He was the seventh recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves was awarded by the Third Reich to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Signed by the Luftwaffe JG27 Glorious Dozen THIRTEEN Luftwaffe pilots, Adolf Galland, Eduard Nuemann, Gustav Rodel, Ernst Borgen, Ernst Dullberg, Ludwig Franzisket, Hans-Joachim Heinecke, Werner Schroer, Ferdinand Vogel, Emil Clade, Karl-Heinz Bendert, Friedrich Korner, and Horst Reuter. Also signed by Bernhard Woldenga the senior Kommodore of JG27 who commanded the unit from June 1941 to June 1942 in the Western Desert. All of the signatories (except Korner & Reuter) participated in the Battle of Britain. This cover is certified and then signed to reverse by Hans Rossbach. Cover comes with loads of information, photos, signature map and correspondence from Rossbach. RARE WWII U BOAT BINOCULARS: A pair of rare Second World War WWII issue Kriegsmarine Carl Zeiss U-boat commander submarine 7x50 binoculars, complete with folding Benutzer eye piece guard to sights, rubber end protectors and rubber grips to eye pieces. Stamped ' blc ' ' 54450. Come within a believed original leather, case. Fabulous binoculars. Very rare in this form. CONDITION: Very good. Paintwork is 'used,' and there is slight delamination to the right-hand lens, but nothing that detracts at all from looking through the binoculars. Very clear, undamaged lenses. Rare gallantry award. Hand engraved to reverse with number 414993. Complete with full provenance in form of printed papers, detailing the awardee and what the medal was awarded for. Comes with copies of award sheet and record card. Rare. From the citation; ' ...serving with the 66th Kiev Ground Assault Aviation Rgmt since December 26 1943...he showed himself a fearless airman... during his missions he releases bombs exactly over his target...he destroyed or damaged 5 tanks, 1 fuel storage tank, 1 ammunition depot, and 5 field guns... he doesn't lose himself even at the most trying moments.. he looks out for his comrade-in-arms' The citation then goes on to tell how Shtokolenko then continued a mission despite taking heavy damage and saved the lives of his air crew. Fascinating story. (see photos for full citation).

ORDER OF PATRIOTIC WAR: Vasily Sputnov, 747960 - An original rare Russian Order Of The Patriotic War. Second class, of gold and silver construction. Comes with original medal issue book, and full provenance in the form of copies of medal papers and printed text and citation. Moscow mint marks to reverse. Also with Valiant Labour medal. Number 747960. NOTE: At some point, within the recipients medal book 'extra' medals were added that he was not awarded. These have somewhat been removed from the book. The number on the medal, book and citation all match. Totally original award. From the citation; ' (he)... took an active part in the breakthrough of the ...enemy defense lines at the Oryol axis...with the 32nd Guards Rifle Regiment as a sergeant.... during this battle the company killed 25 enemy soldiers, and took 12 prisoners.' The citation later details how he became 'crippled of the left leg' because of war injuries. Rare.
