Of crude style and lettering, good fine and very rare £100-£120 --- Provenance: Glendining Auction, 13 May 1992, lot 267. The obverse mintmark looks like a small leaf, but might pass for a tun or woolpack, the reverse is a small lis or saltire. The type is based on the Sixth and Seventh issue coins, struck 1583-1602

Kings of East Anglia, Eadwald (796-800), Penny, Ipswich?, Botræd, l:d+ +eadva rex in three lines, rev. bo á›r ed in angles of voided tribrach, 1.05g/6h (Naismith E1.2; N –; S 947). Broken and repaired, edge loss and some porosity, otherwise good fine, very rare £400-£600 --- Naismith records a single coin of this type in his corpus, but another specimen from the same dies was subsequently discovered in 2018 (EMC 2018.0025). The present coin, struck from a second pair of dies, appears to be the third known example of the type
