The set of counters believed to have been issued in 1632; the medal on the pierced box cover, and that on the base, in the style of Thomas Rawlins, the sides three panels each of two mythical beasts, 15/16th in (2.3cm) high.

The French Royal and Military Order of Saint-Louis, badge, a small gold and enamel Maltese Cross, fleur-de-lis in angles, the centre with St. Louis and on the reverse, a sword and wreath, suspension loop and lined ring, 34mm. The slightest damage to the enamel, otherwise extremely fine and extremely rare. The Royal and Military Order of Saint-Louis was established in 1693. It is not clear whether this Badge dates from the late French monarchy (the Order was suspended in 1792) or from the first Restoration of 1815. The Badge is a companion and of similar manufacture to the Order of Saint-Michael, lot 722

The French Order of Saint-Michael, badge, a small gold and enamel Maltese Cross, fleur-de-lis in angles, the centre with St. Michael and the dragon, green within arms of cross, suspension loop and lined ring, 35.5mm. The slightest damage to the central enamel, otherwise extremely fine and extremely rare. The Order of Saint-Michael was established in 1469. It is not clear whether this Badge dates from the late French monarchy (the Order was suspended in 1792) or from the first Restoration of 1815. The Badge is a companion and of similar manufacture to the Royal and Military Order of Saint-Louis, lot 720

George III and his Father, a silver Box Medal for the Peace of Paris, 1763, by Jan van Nost, the screw-on lid inset with medallic portrait portrait of George II to left, the base inset with George III to right, his hair tied in a queue, 50mm. Very fine and very rare. Reference: British Historical Medals 89 [R3]; Medallic Illustrations 713/453. The Peace of Paris was concluded on the 10th February, 1763 and ratified on the 10th March. Box should contain a series of 60 roundels giving views and descriptions of the events of the Seven Years War, however such complete sets are excessively rare.
