Neck Badge, 57 mm, gilt Silver with blue enameled arms, blue enameled centre medallion with gilt Athena's head, blue enameled reverse medallion within white border with gilt, greek inscription "GREEK REPUBLIC", ring and loop suspension and original ribbon. Breast Star, 80mm, Silver rays and blue enameled gilt centre as the badge's obverse, the reverse, with broad pin, this, struck with a Greek hallmark "950",, in the original, blue case of issue. This Order, was instituted in 1975 to take place of the abolished Order of George I, it ranks after the Order of the Redeemer and is awarded for special merits and achievements towards the State.
