Bacon was `a little tipsy`. It was a discarded blurred first attempt from which Hamilton made a collotype which he worked over with oils imitating Bacon`s free brush-strokes; seven studies in various colours were made of which this is one. . An Austro-Hungarian Empire Boar tusk "Hunting" brooch, large form, the polished tusk being approximately 170 mm long with ornate filigree silver mounts to the long pin, attached silver chain and original hallmarked talisman with the town mark "N" identifying the brooch as having a very rare assay mark for Zadar, Croatia 1866/7 the only year this assay office was used whilst Croatia was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

C. Jeffery and Charles Read, in all 17 signatures. Plus W. J. Giles` passport, separate photograph, 1947 list or registered professionals of the LTA, c/w two copies of The Lawn Tennis and Badminton Magazine, both from 1924, one incl. a report of the professional match at Dulwich, between W. Giles (Craigeside professional) and C.W. Lockyer (Dulwich Covered Courts professional).
Collection 16x World Heavyweight Boxing Figures - Rare and complete set of all 16 World Heavyweight boxing champion figures from John L Sullivan (1882) to Rocky Marciano (1956) each figure is mounted on a naturalistic base, signed and dated by the artist c/w plinth and brass engraved plaque overall approx height 11.5" max - the figures were retailed over a period of 3/4 years and on completing the full set one automatically received a free figure of Rocky Marciano. The set was produced by Endurance Ltd "Art of Sport" series and ltd to 1500 figures (with each mould being destroyed) crafted by English sculptor Daniel Lovatt and hand painted by Artists of either Holland Studio Craft or Cloudside Studios of Stoke on Trent. In view of the time scale to acquire the collection it`s rare to find a complete collection plus the Marciano Figure. These are the original figures and are not to be mistaken for similar smaller figures produced in the USA in the late 1990s - Boxers incl. Sullivan, Corbett, Fitzsimmons, Jeffries, Burns, Johnson, Willard, Dempsey, Tunney, Schmeling, Sharkey, Carnera, Baer, Braddock, Louis, and Rocky Marciano.

Rare 1950s British Lions Rugby Programme (A): for Ceylon v British Isles RFU Team programme, this concluded the British Lions tour to New Zealand and Australia in 1950 and on the return home the British Lions played an unofficial international game against the Ceylon (Sri Lanka) National Team, winning 44-6. Vertical and horizontal crease folds, some sight thumb stains to covers, otherwise (F/G) - also note that this was the first ever British Lions Team made up from International players from the home countries. Extremely rare.
Rare 1912 Wales v South Africa VIP Rugby Programme/Dinner Menu: the 4 page programme comprises a photograph of the South African team to the inside front cover, opposite details of the South African team with asterisks against the players selected to play against Wales - and on the inside back page and cover the full Welsh team selected to play against South Africa - c/w head and shoulder portraits of each player. Note this was the 2nd Springbok tour to the UK.

Rare 1957 West Bromwich Albion v Dynamo Tbilisi football programme (A): West Bromwich Albion toured Russia in 1957 and played 3 games, beating both Dynamo Tbilisi and the Soviet Army Side (CSKA) Moscow and drew against F. C. Zenit in Leningrad and became the 1st British Professional team to win a game in the Soviet Union - single folded sheet (VG).
Rare 1957 Russian football poster v West Bromwich Albion: a coloured poster for the match played against F.C. Zenit in Leningrad, with a laced up leather football to the centre - the poster has been folded into quarters and stored in a drawer hence overall condition is very bright and clean with a tiny hole to one of the corner folded creases.
