Flown Vulcan Signed J Vinales Falklands Vulcan Nav Plus Simon Weston & P Langdown Vulcan Pilot 28 Feb 82 Disbandment Avro Vulcan 35 Sqn. Flown in Vulcan of 35 Sqn. Personally Signed by Marshal of RAF Sir David Craig returned to flying duties in Vulcans as Commanding Officer of No 35 Sqn from 1963 to 65. Also Signed by Simon Weston OBE is a veteran of the British Army who became well known throughout the United Kingdom for his recovery and charity work after suffering severe burn injuries during the Falklands War. On 9 June 1982, he was boarded with other members of his regiment on RFA Sir Galahad in Port Pleasant near Fitzroy, just off the Falkland Islands. It was bombed and set on fire by the Argentine Skyhawk fighters during the Bluff Cove Air Attacks. His ship was carrying ammunition as well as phosphoric bombs and thousands of gallons of diesel and petrol, Out of his platoon of 30 men, 22 were killed. The Welsh Guards lost a total of 48 men killed and 97 wounded aboard the Sir Galahad. Weston survived with 46% burns, following which his face was barely recognizable Jim Vinales was navigator for J Reeve the pilot of Vulcan XM607 during Black Buck 2 and was with 50 Squadron, RAF flew during the Falklands Conflict and by Flt Lt Paddy Langdown ( RAF Retired) who was the Captain of Vulcan B2 XM 606 when he and his crew serving with 101 Squadron won the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command Navigation Trophy in 1974. Friedrich Kemnade KC signed 6x4 black and white portrait photograph. Lieutenant Commander Friedrich Kemnade was one of only eight naval officers to be awarded the E-boat War Badge with Diamonds, a personal award from the commander of the German Navy to particularly successful commanders of E-boats who were having an increasing effect on patrolling the English Channel. After WWII, Kemnade was an officer of the Germany Navy, being promoted to Admiral in 1964. Rare Good condition Est. £20 - 30
Major General Karl-Eduard Wilke signed plain US cover 1980. 1901-1990 was a German Luftwaffe commander of World War II. He was also a veteran of the closing days of World War I. Before the war, he taught at aviation at the war academy. After serving on the staff of the Luftwaffe high command, he took command of the German Air Force in Rumania in 1943, an important position because the Allies were bombing Rumanian oil refineries, the principal source of fuel for German tanks and aircraft. This command was extended to all of Southeast Europe in 1944. Transferring to the Western Front, he was commander of the Flieger Division (pursuit aircraft), (January-April 1945). His final post was head of the Organization Branch of the Air Force. Rare Good condition Est. £20 - 30
Karl Ullrich KC OL signed 6 x 4 b/w portrait photo. 1 December 1910 - 8 May 1996 was an Oberführer (Senior Colonel) in the Waffen-SS. He was awarded the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd class for bravery during the Battle of France, then transferred to the Totenkopf on the Eastern Front in 1941. He was awarded the Knight's Cross for his leadership and bravery during the battles of the Demyansk pocket in February 1942 and in October 1944 was given command of the 6th SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment Theodor Eicke and was awarded the Oakleaves while in command. Promoted to Standartenführer (Colonel) he was given command of the 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking for the final battles of the war in Hungary. A short time before the end of the war he was promoted to Oberführer and he surrendered to the Russians in May 1945. Rare Good condition Est. £20 - 30

Gen Walter Gericke signed plain US cover 1981. 23 December 1907 - 19 October 1991, was a German Fallschirmjäger during World War II and Generalmajor of the West German Bundeswehr. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves Gericke participated in the Battle of the Netherlands and the Battle of Crete as a Battalion commander of the Fallschirmjäger. He later commanded the Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 11 and fought in the defensive battles at Anzio. He joined the newly formed Bundeswehr after the rearmament of West Germany and as a Generalmajor led the 1. Luftlande-Division from 1962 to 1965. Rare Good condition Est. £20 - 30

He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Werner Ranck was captured by Soviet troops in May 1945 in the Courland Pocket. He was released in 1955. Rare Good condition Est. £20 - 30
Admiral Bernhard Rogge KC OL signed 6 x 4 vintage photo of cruise Atlantis. (4 November 1899 - 29 June 1982 was a German naval officer who, during World War II, commanded a merchant raider. Later, he became a Konteradmiral in West Germany's Bundesmarine. He was awarded a Japanese ornate Samurai sword and the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross for his actions as the commander of the Hilfskreuzer (auxiliary cruiser) Atlantis (Schiff 16).Rogge eventually became a Vizeadmiral (vice-admiral) by the end of World War II, and, when the West German Bundesmarine was established after the war, returned to service as a Konteradmiral (rear-admiral).Rogge also was one of the few German officers of flag rank who was not arrested by the Allies after the war. Admiral Friedrich Oskar Ruge signed 1974 US Army Veterans FDC.24 December 1894 - 3 July 1985) was an officer in the German Navy and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Joining the Imperial German Navy as a cadet in March 1914, he was soon a participant in the 1914, 1915, and 1916 Baltic Sea operations. In 1917 and 1918, he sailed with the destroyer raids in the North Sea and English Channel. After the armistice, Ruge was an officer aboard the German destroyer B-112, interned at Scapa Flow and in June 1919, he played a role in the scuttling of the German Fleet. In World War II, he was a part of the Polish Campaign in 1939 and the North Sea-English Channel operations during 1940. From 1940 to 1943, he was stationed in France, rising through the upper ranks to become Vice Admiral in 1943. Sent to Italy in 1943, he served as Senior German Naval Officer until mid-summer. He was appointed as Naval Advisor to Field Marshal Erwin Rommel in November 1943 to supervise the defence of northern France from the predicted Allied invasion. He had no faith in land mines and artillery shells struck underwater, but the marine mines he wanted weren't available. In August 1944, he became the Kriegsmarine's Director of Ship Construction, a position in which he served till the end of World War II. At the end World War II, he became a POW. In 1946, he started a new life as a translator, writer and educator in Cuxhaven. He was one of four Flag Officers who made up the Naval Historical Team at Bremerhaven, sponsored by the United States Navy. He entered politics as a political independent to the Cuxhaven Town Council. During the early 1950s, he advised as to how the navy could be restructured in the new Bundesmarine, as detailed in Searle's Wehrmacht Generals. Called out of retirement when Germany became a part of NATO, Ruge was appointed Inspector of the Navy (a position similar to the U.S. Chief of Naval Operations), a post he occupied until 1961. Afterward, he became a member of the faculty at the University of Tübingen, eventually becoming an Associate Professor on 21 July 1967 there. He was a guest lecturer at many universities, including the U.S. Naval War College at Newport. Admiral Ruge was one of the umpires for the 1974 Sandhurst wargame on Operation Sea Lion. John Britton, William Hosking; 1842; Restoration of the Church of Saint Mary, Redcliffe, Bristol: An Appeal by the Vicar, Churchwardens, and Vestry (1842). Rare document. Tooled binding, with gilt embellished text to front, various plates within. From an impressive private collection of antique books / manuscripts, mostly relating to Bristol. Most books have a plate affixed to the inside cover or frontis detailing the collection to which they came from. Regarded as one of the best private collections of Bristol books, students from Bristol University were often sent by Bristol Library to the owners home in order to study the texts.
An extremely rare and unusual Japanese crackle glaze ginger jar, an official gift from the Japanese empire to the German/Nazi military to commemorate the 1940 Tripartite pact. Decorated with the Japanese flag alongside the Nazi Swastika and trees. Inscription on base reads 'Over the generations the royal family visited Kanazawa prefecture over 2600 times.' Dated 1940 and signed Kutani Kosen.
Alfred G Vanderbilt,a rare and superbly presented booklet containing 19 photographic cards depicting the multi millionaire's coach and horses on it's journey from London to Brighton in 1914.The coach named "Venture" was on its seventh and what was to become its last journey for the famous American businessman and sportsman who,in 1915,was on the RMS Lusitania when it was sunk by a German U Boat.Famously Vanderbilt,a non swimmer,gave his life jacket to a woman passenger.The cards are in chronological order and presented in a red suede cover with silver colour embossed detail to one corner "Venture London to Brighton 1914" also containing his card
