FRANCE V ENGLAND 1938 Friendly played 25 May 1938 at Parce des Princes, Paris. Very rare French FA 12-page newspaper style issue dated the day of the match 25 May 1938. Published by Organe Officiel De La Federation Francaise De Football Association. Includes large central page team line-ups and history of encounters between the two nations. The front cover welcome's England to France and is titled ''FOOTBALL - Cordiale Bienvenue aux Souveains d'Angleterre'' France played England as a warm up fixture for the 1938 FIFA World Cup which they hosted and began the following week in early June. This issue also has various 1938 World Cup tournament articles and previews. The French FA used this paper to announce their news bulletins including French International matches during this period. The spine has some thin clear tape for protection only. Minor paper replaced at top corner edge minimal print effected. Fair - generally good

MAN UTD -WOLVES POSTPONED 57-58 The most rare Manchester United post-war home programme, United v Wolves 8/2/58, issue number 20. The game was postponed because of the Munich Air Disaster two days earlier and the programmes printed were ordered to be pulped. A few copies escaped being destroyed and this copy, possibly a slight miscut as the printer has not trimmed it at the edges, comes complete with token. Previously , small tears have been repaired, it has been cleaned and a very small corner piece at the top of the back cover has been restored. No writing and a very scarce item. As described

It brought back together some of the greatest World Cup players of the Era 1966-1986. The British team was billed as Great Britain as it consisted of English and Scottish players. This Lot is the personal accreditation pass issued to Don Masson (Scotland) for the Tournament and has a photo of him in GB tracksuit attached. Rare for items from this Tournament to surface. Good

CZECHOSLOVAKIA ARMY TEAM 1940s Interesting selection of items relating to the Czech Army XI who were stationed in the Birmingham Area between 1940-1942. Includes rare match poster for game v I.C.I Metal Works XI, 3/5/41 at Alexander Ground, Perry Barr together with team post card at Halesowen 20/9/41 and small privately taken photograph showing two teams in Birkenhead before a game. Also included is a larger 8" x 6" photograph of the team before a match at River Electric Sports Club, Dudley, 19/4/1942 which is annotated in the hand of their captain and star player, Alex Deutelbaum. Many of the players were Czech Internationals before the War but often used false names to avoid identification by German Intelligence and possible recriminations in Czechoslovakia. Generally good
