THE JIMMY JOHNSTONE FABERGE EGG, A RARE LIMITED EDITION 24CT GOLD, SILVER AND ENAMEL FABERGE EGG, No.13 of a limited edition of 19 for the World Market, created by Sarah Faberge. The lion is presented as a finial in sterling silver and 24ct gold a symbol of Celtic's triumph in winning the European Cup in 1967, the egg decorated with full-size domestic and European Cup medals, comprising, European Cup medal; Scottish League Championship medal, Scottish Cup medal; and Scottish League Cup medal, struck in original dies, gilded and hand-enamelled, the sterling medals intersperse a reminder of Jimmy Johnstone's origins with the coal pithead, four winding-shaft supports, fashioned in silver and black gold. The top of the egg itself is hand engine-turned on sterling silver and precious rhodium. The lower half of the creation is adorned with Celtic Football Club's badge proclaiming its 1888 origin, the badge is counterbalanced by the motif from the 'The Lord of the Wing' motion picture which celebrates Jimmy Johnstone's career and achievement. To the sides, seven magic celtic rings in hand-enamelled silver, the bezel is an echo of the jungle, whose corrugated roof it commemorates. The interior of the egg is surmounted by a figure of Jimmy Johnstone modelled in silver and gold with sterling and black gold diamond-studded football, with etched Jimmy Johnstone signature, the base with seven steps representing Johnstone's number, the underside engraved with Sarah Fabergé signature and inscribed 13, 7in. (17.8cm) high, with original carry case; certificate of authenticity and a hand-written note by Sarah Fabergé; and a Jimmy Johnstone, A God With A Leather Football At His Feet brochure, the cover inscribed and autographed To The Young Scouser Best Wishes Billy McNeill, also autographed by Bertie Auld and John (Yogi) Hughes.
