Condition Report: Commensurate with age and use. A few splits and knocks to woodwork along with several of the metal fittings missing.

USA SOCCER 1930 Excellent double sided sheet of autographs circa 1930s which includes the USA Soccer team. The USA entered the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay and defeated both Belgium and Paraguay before being beaten 6-1 by Argentina in the Semi-Final when the USA finished with effectively 8 players as they lost a player with a broken leg after 10 minutes and two others including the goalkeeper were badly injured during the game. The signatures include the 1930 captain George Moorhouse and Patenaude who also played in the 1930 World Cup. Other signatures include Chesney, Dick and Ballantyne who played against Scotland in 1935 and two of the above signatories played against the 1939 Scottish touring team.. Trainer Jack Coll has also signed, Coll left Celtic in the 1920s to seek fame and no doubt fortune as a football trainer in the USA. He was trainer for the 1930 USA World Cup team and filled the team with Scottish born players. The USA signed sheet includes 11 players in position order, 3 reserves, trainer Coll and assistant Ballantyne. The other side includes eight players from Michigan All Stars including Frank Crawly (ex Blackburn Rovers, Accrington and Lincoln). A rare piece of USA soccer history with many rare signatures. Good
GUERNSEY 1944 Exceedingly scarce wartime programme for a match played at Beau Sejour, Guernsey, 31/5/44. The Amherstian Players v The Lyric Variety Stars. At the time , Guernsey was still occupied by the German forces and paper was in very short supply. Single sheet programme for this Charity game and both teams included male and female players which was banned by the FA at this time. Included amongst the players was Gertie Duquemin who was possibly related to Len Duquemin who went on to play for Spurs. Two punch-holes but no print affected. Exceedingly rare programme and very unlikely that many copies survive. Reg Warley was left back for the Players and unknown to the Germans he was the typist for the Guernsey Secret Underground Press which kept the islanders informed of the progress of the War via the strictly forbidden BBC. If he had been caught , he would face the death penalty. Programme is generally good condition. Generally good

Also includes Chelsea team photo taken before the first round match with Olympique Marseille with the players reading an issue of the L'Auto newspaper. This was the first of a 25 match Australian tour by the English FA on their first visit to Australia played from 7 May to 3 August 1925. England won the match 8-0 and went on to win all the other games on the tour. Good

No writing and has blank team line-ups to the central pages. Good

The certificate recording England's appreciation is signed on the front by Jack Rowell tour manager and Will Carling , captain and on the reverse it is signed by all 37 members of the England touring party, one signature under another. SIGNED CRICKET BAT Warsop-Hendren four star cricket bat signed in 1953 by cricketers from England and Australia, 12 from each country, England signatures include Hammond, Robertson, Fishlock, Hutton, Washbrook, Wright, Edrich whilst the Australians , many of whom represented the Australian Services team in the 1940s, include Hassett, Miller, Johnson, Ellis, Cristofani, Stanford, Williams, Pettiford, Roper, Cec Pepper, Sismey and Whitington. Many of these are rare signatures as although most played first-class cricket, few played at Test level after the 1945 Victory Tests in England which were not official tests.. Good ink signatures.
