Nicola Materazzi, numbered, 60 minute rotating bezel.Strap: Perforated leather. Nicola Materazzi was technical engineer for Lancia and was instrumental in the design of the World Rally specification Lancia Stratos cars. This watch was presented to him for their World Rally Championship win in 1976. Upon leaving Lancia and after a short spell for Osella working on Formula 1 & 2 cars, he was hired in 1979 by Ferrari as head of the racing department technical office. He oversaw the technical development of various Ferrari cars including the GTO, Testarossa, 288 GTO Evolution, 412 GT, 328 and 208 Turbo. Perhaps his most impressive project was the iconic Ferrari F40, for which he oversaw the whole design. Upon leaving Ferrari after over 10 years of service, he worked on various other projects including the Bugatti EB110 in 1991. GEORGE IBBERSON & CO; a rare George VI hallmarked silver bodied and steel bladed angling multi tool, set with eight various 'blades' including scissors, spike, corkscrew etc, inscribed 'Limerick Bend, Measure Hook From Bottom Line, Do Not Include Eye', with delineated front panel, Sheffield 1937, length of body 10.25cm. CONDITION REPORT: All blades hinged and working well, tip of helix for corkscrew a little worn, light surface scratches but hallmarks clear and all component parts present.

MAPPIN BROS; a rare military issue engraved ivory combination knife, fork, spoon and corkscrew, the body with pinned locators dividing into two sections, the front inscribed 'Major Douglas McEnery 16th Canadian Light Horse' and also inscribed 'For King & Empire' beneath a stag's head, the reverse side engraved with the head and neck studies of four horses, contained within an associated Moroccan leather and card two sectioned case, length when closed 12.5cm.

In 1765, in conjunction with J.H.de Magellan, a Portuguese scientist, he patented an instrument to measure the effect of the weight of the atmosphere and the variations caused by heat and cold. Totem BR(M) FF NORTHOLT PARK from the former Great Central Railway station between Sudbury Hill and Northolt Junction. In good condition with one chip to the bottom and discolouration to the white, complete with original brackets. A very rare totem that has only ever appeared twice at auction, the last time being 22 years ago.

Great Eastern Railway Sykes Lock and Block mahogany cased instrument for PARK with brass plaque makers plate W R SYKES. Park signal box was later renamed Northumberland Park in 1923. This instrument was retained at the Stratford S&T store and was purchased by the vendor when it closed. In original condition and appears complete, rare to see a GER instrument of this type.

GWR mahogany cased 18inch double dial railway station clock. The large plated brass chain driven fusee movement has all the internal motion work present for the slave dial and is in good clean working condition. Both dials have been repainted during the 1930's with the GWR roundel design logo and the original mahogany case with segmented surround still retains its original GWR ivorine numberplate 944. A substantial and rare timepiece in excellent working condition complete with pendulum and key.

Lot 169

GWR vehicle horn manufactured by Eversure Accessories Bham. In original condition with black painted brass trumpet, nickel plated grille, rubber bulb and mounting bracket, clearly stamped GWR on the side. Measures 19in long and is in totally original condition. A rare and unusual item.

Lot 174

Cardiff Railway 12in oak cased chain driven fusee railway clock. The oak case with eight piece surround has two side doors and a bottom door secured with the typical GWR ball bearing catch. The GWR ivorine numberplate 1190 is screwed onto the left hand side and the rear of the case is hand painted CRC18. The large A frame chain driven fusee movement is in good clean condition. The original dial with GWR in block style has visible as ghosted writing Cardiff Railway Co Spiridion & Son Cardiff. This important and rare survivor is featured on page 74 of The Railway Clock Book by the late I.P.Lyman. Complete and in working condition with pendulum and key.

Preston & Wyre Railway 12in mahogany cased fusee railway clock. The mahogany case with eight piece surround has one side door and a bottom door secured by a brass turn, the later LMS oval brass numberplate 9095 is screwed onto the side. The rectangular plated fusee movement has shaped shoulders and pillars with central turned rings. The original dial is lettered MELLING P&WRY NO69 PRESTON. This important and rare survivor is featured on page 140 of The Railway Clock Book by the late I.P.Lyman. Complete and in working condition with pendulum and key.

Sheds included Stockton, Blyth and West Hartlepool, withdrawn in 1960 and cut up the same year at Darlington Works. Oval cast iron with a brass renumbering strip. A rare plate with not many surviving from York.

Withdrawn in 1962 and cut up at Darlington Works in 1963. Oval cast brass with brass renumbering strip, a rare style Stratford type casting.

NSR 12in mahogany cased fusee railway clock. The mahogany case has one side door and a bottom door and is stamped 13146/8537. The rectangular plated fusee movement is in good clean condition. The original dial is lettered NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE RAILWAY 22504 R.THOMPSON LEICESTER. A rare clock with the railway company in full title that has escaped later repaints. In working condition complete with pendulum and key.

Worksplate RHYMNEY RAILWAY REBUILT 1905 CAERPHILLY. In depth research by the late Bill Peto of The Great Western Society concludes that the only known rebuilding work at Caerphilly Works in 1906 was eleven locomotives: No's 78, 80, 81, 83, 92, 95 of the 57 class 0-6-2ST; 64 of the 62-66 class 2-4-2ST; 53 of the 45-56 class 0-6-0ST; and No's 41, 42 of the 23-44 class 0-6-0ST. Oval cast iron, complete with Bill Peto research. Exceptionally rare.
