'GEORGE' AN ORIGINAL AND RARE c1908 STEIFF TEDDY BEAR; 16" tall. C1908. Blonde mohair, boot button eyes, early type button to right ear. Woodwool stuffing, hump to back, pronounced snout with elongated arms. The legs, arms and head being jointed. This very bear was used by ' Miller's Collecting Teddy Bears & Dolls' (page 28), as a reference. A copy of the book is supplied. From a personal and private collection of antique Steiff teddy bears, amassed over many years.
MEGO STAR TREK; An original vintage Mego Star Trek USS Enterprise Bridge playset. Appears to be complete, with 3x screen cards (can be placed above the command console), 2x black stools, captains chair and command console. Also comes with 5x original Mego action figures - most with their full uniforms and some accessories (blasters, belts etc). The playset with spinning transporter, makes itself a carry case by folding neatly together. Rare.
0 GAUGE; A fabulous heavy 1930's (believed), 0 gauge railway trainset locomotive. No makers name, but possibly Bassett Lowke or similar. 0 Gauge 3 rail LNER square boxed boiler engine, in black livery. G204 stamped to under carriage, with highly detailed furniture, and sprung couplings. Rare.
SHOP DISPLAY CHAD VALLEY BEAR; A fabulous and rare 1950's shop window display Chad Valley ' Hygenic Toys ' teddy bear. Measuring around 4ft tall, the bear comes complete with the original glass eyes and blue neck ribbon. The standard sized small label to the side being from Chad Valley. Rare to see in this large oversized form.
DINKY; Original rare Dinky Supertoys Big Bedford Heinz advertising diecast model lorry 922. FROM AN AMAZING COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL PROFESSIONALLY REPAINTED DINKY DIECAST. All models are in superb condition, each being professionally restored to original colours, with new tyres and accessories where needed. The standard is high, and many are better than when they were first made. Incredible attention has been given. Some of the best re-painted Dinky's we have ever seen.
Southern Railway brass cased fusee ships clock. The original 8 inch dial has had some light restoration and shows SR 10219, the brass case has a cast brass bezel with bevelled glass and the substantial chain driven fusee movement with Harrisons maintaining power is in clean working condition. The clock is mounted on a mahogany plinth which has a brass plate attached S.S. Canterbury 1929 – 1964 Presented to the Dover Waterguard. The Southern railway clock records confirm clock no 10219 was used on SS Canterbury. The Waterguard were the forerunner of the Customs & Excise. A rare and important maritime and railway timepiece.
North Eastern Railway silver cased Chronograph Pocket Watch complete with hallmarked case and silver albert. Made by Reid & Sons Newcastle-on-Tyne with the movement fully signed and patented May 3rd 1883. It has two small dials within the main dial. The top shows the minutes and the bottom is the usual seconds and also a centre seconds sweep. Hand engraved 'NER' on the case rear. An extremely rare watch in full working order and must have been supplied for someone extremely important.
Inverness & Aberdeen Junction Railway brass Station Handbell. Hand engraved with company initials 'I&AJR', it stands 12 inches tall and is 7 inches in diameter. The company merged with the Inverness & Perth Junction Railway to form the Highland Railway on 1st February 1865. A rare survivor circa 1857.
BR(W) Horizontal type Slip Coach Lamp. Embossed 'BR(W)' on both chimneys with a brass semi-circular plate on one chimney top 'Return To Paddington'. Complete with both reservoirs and burners etc. Measures 20 inches at widest x 14 inches tall. Excellent condition. An extremely rare lamp seldom seen.
Totem BR(W) DUNSTALL PARK F/F. Ex GWR station, first stop north of the old Wolverhampton Low Level station, and was served by local trains towards Shrewsbury, as well as those on the Wombourne Branch Line to Stourbridge. Also the stop for Wolverhampton Racecourse. Closed in 1968. A very rare totem, never seen at auction before. Some loss of shine and a hole has been drilled either end so will require repair.
Great Eastern Railway wooden Platform Bench with GER cast iron supports and complete with LNER cast iron Seatback DERSINGHAM. Measuring 84 inches in length x 19 inches wide x 35 inches tall and repainted in blue. A very rare item from the Kings Lynn to Hunstanton Branch and next station to Royal Wolferton. The station opened in 1862 and closed when the entire branch became defunct in 1969. Buyer to arrange through us collection from the Norfolk area.
CAPE OF GOOD HOPE POSTAL HISTORY , 1794 Sept, "V.O.C" struck letter (De Verenigde Nederlansche Geoctroyeerde Oost-Indische Compagnie), carried by favour from Holland to Cape Town on "Buiten Verwachting". Signed by Captain of ship. Also ship's manifest document, dated April 1794, also signed by Captain. Also a portion of an old title deed dated 1717 with "V.O.C" embossed into paper. Attractive! A very fine and rare trio! (3)
A FINE & EXTREMELY RARE 18TH CENTURY CHINESE QIANLONG MARK & PERIOD FAMILLE ROSE IMPERIAL QUALITY PORCELAIN OFFERING DISH, the interior with a formal design of unusual geometric motifs divided by scrolling lotus, the wide everted rim with an unusual design of circular piercings linked by an iron-red cord surround within formal floral borders, the base enamelled in turquoise and centred by a Qianlong seal mark in iron-red, 15.3in diameter. (cf. Lot 3442 Christies Hong Kong 27th November 2013 for a pair of very similar examples. Also a related example is exhibited in The National Palace Museum in Taiwan.
