A rare, interesting and unique management contract between The Boys Next Door (later The Birthday Party) and Barrie Earl and Philip Jackson. This document dated 6th April 1979 is a rare insight into the early career of Nick Cave, with the contract stating that management would take a twenty percent cut of the bands earnings. The document is signed by all members comprising Nick Cave (autograph reading Nicholas Cave), Michael Harvey, Tracy Pew, Phillip Calvert and both managers, all witnessed by Milanka Comfort. The Boys Next Door were signed by Earl on the newly established subsidiary label Suicide, before Rowland Howard formally joined the band.

dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Kingdom of Italy, Round, rifled, 17 mm cal. barrel (core and grooves in very good conditions), with adjustable rear sight; bolt action in working order; wooden, full stock, stamp 'BRESCIA 1881' on the right side of the butt and with numbering. Iron and brass mounts, ring-nut at the nozzle, with slot for a bayonet, provided with fore-sight. No ramrod. Together with a rare bayonet, with double-edged blade, solid brass grip and quillon, complete with scabbard. length 109,2 cm.
dating: 1875-1890 provenance: USA, Round, rifled barrel, provided with fore-sight and fix rear sight, remains of company's marking in two lines and with caliber caption at the base '50 EX'; frame with upper tang marked 'Model 1886', the lower with patents dates and with serial number '131xxxA'. Re-finished. Wooden butt and fore-end. Flat, horn butt-plate. Half-length tubular magazine. Very rare caliber. length 112,7 cm.
dating: 9th Century provenance: Northern Europe, Wide, straight, double-edged blade with slight, central fuller. Iron hilt with slightly curved, rectangular quillon. Big pommel of typical shape, with slightly curved base. The surface of the hilt and blade's base with parts missing. Interesting and rare shape of the sword. length 83.5 cm.
dating: 19th Century provenance: Tibet, Knife with straight, single-edged blade, with fuller, brass-inlaid on one facet at the base, remains of floral engravings on the other. Pitting. Grip with probably bone grip scales, dyed in greed. Iron cap, engraved with gilded rinceaux that overtakes the drawing on the blade. Bone ramrods, one with silver cap. The three elements together in their scabbard, dyed in green as well, with iron mounts. Long chape, all decorated with engraved rinceaux and gilded so as on the knife, the same decorative theme is present on the cap, bands and band that joints these elements, all in iron. One lug. Rare set in this quality. length 94 cm.
dating: 19th Century provenance: Persia, Curved, flat, single -and false-edged, damask blade, at the right side of the blade two cartouches with inscriptions in Arabic; cross-quillon silver-inlaid with floral motifs; green jade grip scales with six, gold-plated rubies; wooden scabbard with green velvet covering, green jade chape. Rare. length 100 cm.
dating: 17th Century provenance: Italy, Straight, double-edged blade, first part with central fuller and inscription 'H ANTONIO', and 'PICHINIO' on the other side, ending in an imperial globe. Iron hilt with quillons, similar to a sword, double shell-guard, chiselled with beams, guard-ring with lowered center, loop-guard en suite with the quillon and pommel chiselled with spirals. Wooden grip, with iron wire binding and moor's heads, decorated with spirals. Rare type. length 94 cm.

Brass hilt with angled guard and long langets, straight parry-quillon. Long, smooth cap. Leather-covered grip (small parts missing). Wooden, leather-covered scabbard. Brass mounts, cap and band both with iron lug. Long chape with small, iron knuckle. length 96 cm.

A Rare Pair of George III Silver Teaspoons, by William Darby, Sheffield, 1785, Stamped 'Patent', each Old English pattern, engraved with initials 'H' over I*N'; Together With: an Irish silver dessert-spoon, Dublin, 1825; a pair of sugar-tongs, maker's mark TG, further with '875' mark and lion passant and a further pair of sugar-tongs, Thomas Bradbury and Sons Ltd., London, 1918, Britannia standard, 3oz 2dwt (5) While the machine production of silver flatware became common in the 19th century it was William Darby of Sheffield who was among the earliest silversmiths to seek a method for the machine making of spoons. His method was patented in 1785, describing the process as '... then stamped with a hammer, stamp, screw press, or any engine of sufficient force, between two steel dyes, one or both of the dyes having the exact form of the spoon or other article intended.' (as quoted by I. Pickford, Silver Flatware English, Irisn and Scottish 1660-1980, Woodbridge, 1995, pp. 20-21).
