Lot 120

A 1953 Austin Healey 100, registration number TDD 47, chassis number BN1 1140267, Healey Ice blue. The sensational new Austin Healey 100 caused a major stir when it was debuted at the 1952 London Motor Show. The all new Healey sports car was intended to be a low cost high performance sports car aimed squarely at the US market. The 100 sourced its major components from the Austin Atlantic saloon including the 2660cc four cylinder engine tuned to 90 bhp which when installed in the lighter streamlined Healey resulted in a genuine 100 mph plus sports car. It was equipped with a four speed gearbox with the bottom gear blanked off which with the overdrive gave five usable gear ratios. The Healey 100 is a muscular sports car for the purest and its performance was not bettered by its successor the 100/6 and was only surpassed when the Healey 3000 became available in 1959. This particular example has been in the vendor's possession for a remarkable 41 years. The car was registered on 1st September 1953 and is arguably finished in the best colour combination of Ice blue with a dark blue interior, the same colour combination as it left the factory. It sits on recently replaced chrome wire wheels with correct style tyres and has a desirable Sebring louvered bonnet fitted. We are advised by the client that he had the Healey resprayed in 1976 and the car still looks bright. Recent expenditure includes the fitting of an aluminium fuel tank and a general health check at a Healey specialist. With a believed genuine 69,000 miles on the odometer, this rare early chassis number Healey 100 is eligible for some of the world's most prestigious sporting events including the Mille Miglia, Le Mans Classic and Tour Auto to name but a few. Now coming to the market for the first time in over four decades this extremely original low mileage Healey is certainly a must for any serious collection. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See cover and other illustrations

Lot 105

A 1953 Austin K9 Loadstar cattle lorry, brown. This rare and very original K9 Loadstar has resided in the same Somerset village of Middlezoy since its first registration. Both the first and current owner are farmers, who used the lorry to transport cattle to Bridgwater Market. The lorry has been in dry storage for a good number of years, but has been started and moved on a regular basis and it certainly sounded in rude health on our inspection for the catalogue photographs. Unfortunately the logbook has been lost, but the vendor has contacted Somerset County Archives and acquired relevant documentation from them which should enable the next owner to register the lorry with its original registration. No V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations

The first owner, a director of Taylor's Electrical, Taunton, Somerset, purchased the Cedric from Arthur Martin Autorama, Taunton, Somerset, after seeing the model displayed at that years International Motor Show. There have been four subsequent changes of title, including his widow and the vendor, who has owned the car once before. This rare Datsun has travelled less than 56,000 miles from new and is offered with service history, receipts, past MOTs, manuals and a detailed history of ownership. V5C, MOT to March 2016 See illustration

Lot 132

A 1967 Humber Hawk estate historic rally car, registration number MDD 456F, Burnt almond. This now rare Humber estate has been campaigned by the vendor in various international rallies, including the arduous London to Cape Town Reliability Rally (a grueling 12,000 mile endurance test which passes through 27 countries along the way), and the Lands End to John O'Groats (LeJog) amongst others. In preparation for the London to Cape Town, the Humber was completely stripped and rebuilt with some creature comforts to aid comfort and driver pleasure. These included an air conditioning system, individual front seats, a 20 gallon fuel tank, the chassis was strengthened (with over plates), an oil cooler was fitted, rerouted fuel and brake lines inside the car, adjustable telescopic dampers and springs, and a Rootes floor change four speed gearbox with overdrive was fitted. All of the preparation certainly paid off as the car was very reliable with only minor problems being encountered on the epic journey. Since returning from Cape Town the Humber has seen some of the modifications returned to original specification including refitting of the bench front seat. This well proven historic rally car is offered for auction with a history file containing receipts, photographs of its exploits, magazines, handbooks and correspondence. RF60, V5C, no MOT, tax exempt See illustration
