A fine and very rare pair of coachbuilders compassed and radiussed handrail planes by JOHN MOSELEY & SON London with orig round topped irons by Mottram (similar to the pair sold in our Cat No 48 Lot 990 but shorter at 4 3/4") also included their matching straight handrail plane unfortunately lacking iron and wedge F(1500-2500)

A most unusual catalogue apparently specially produced for IBBOTSON BROTHERS and despatched with their Complements to George Edward Dering Esq're of Lockleys, Welwyn, Herts. Measuring 15" x 12" x 2 1/2"d and fully bound in red leather with gold decoration and gilded decoration to the page edges. This catalogue incorporates many pages from the Sheffield list of c1865 but also includes many pages of material of interest to a Consulting Engineer engaged in the construction of railways, with many machine tools used in railway workshops. Contents for sale also include many Woodworking and Engineering Tools and Machinery, Farm Tools, Ice Skates, Scales, Lamps, Carriage Wheels and Springs, Lathes, Railway Carriage Parts, Train Lines and Signaling Equip. A rare miniature 18c Norwegian mechanical fleam the brass case with decorated edges and engraved and dated O.A.S. A'o (Anno) 1798 to the sliding lid and with shaped, hand forged, steel lever, in orig fitted burr wood "trunk" the part orig. label with Christiania, which is the pre 1900 name for Oslo, the box with decoration to early hinge but lacks clasp G+(300-500)
