A rare silk processional flag from the funeral of the Duke of Wellington, the pale yellow silk ground decorated with Field Marshall's insignia and family motifs in bullion and velvet, with black silk highlights and bullion fringed border, framed and glazed. Following his death at the age of 83 on the 14th of September 1852, the extravagant funeral procession on the 18th of November 1852 saw a reputed one million people line the procession route from Westminster to St Pauls

Rare work that provides advice to would-be purchasers on aspects of the body, pace, lameness and wind of horses. Only 2 copies of this work are listed in Copac (British Library & Wellcome Library), and it is not in Loder.
