The rectangular top with raised ends houses a bronze dragon with pierced fretwork over a glazed door and opening to an arrangement of shelves, with one drawer with an archaistic style taotie mask pull with a red velvet backing. A very rare Flight Worcester mug, circa 1785Of generous cylindrical form, the underglaze blue ground printed with honeycomb diaper and a floral chain and other borders, the reserved panels printed in red overglaze with European landscape vignettes, the front circular panel with a print of two boys using a brood of freshly hatched chicks as an excuse to peer under the skirts of their female companion, 11.3cm high, disguised numeral mark in blue and rare red printed mark 'WORCESTER Manufactory FLIGHT'Footnotes:This mug, or another like it, was first reported in the 1950s and caused controversy as at that time the disguised numeral marks were believed to indicate a Caughley origin. This suggested that Flight acted as decorators of Caughley porcelain. Excavations at Worcester subsequently proved that the disguised numeral marks were used by Worcester during the Flight period. AN INTERESTING AND RARE DETONATOR IGNITION BLUNDERBUSS PISTOL BY FORREST, CIRCA 1820, no visible serial number, with 11 1/4in. London proofed iron barrel with flared muzzle and baluster formed breech, the barrel tang with foliate decoration, bevelled borderline engraved lock with stepped tail, foliate engraving and sunburst, original makers 'FORREST' to the centre, originally made as a flintlock and later converted to detonator ignition, similar to the Forsyth scent lock, only in this case the hammer is connected to the magazine by a bar, cocking the hammer turns the magazine and deposits a small amount of fulminate on the anvil, as the hammer falls the magazine is turned back to its original position and a pointed nose on the hammer lines up with a small hole at the base of the magazine giving access to the anvil, full walnut stock with plain bag shaped grip, brass mounts including trigger-guard the bow engraved with floral decoration, pineapple finial, complete with replacement ramrod.
A RARE BOXED .22 STERLING ARMAMENTS UNDER-LEVER AIR-RIFLE, MODEL 'HR83', serial no. 3286, circa 1983, with blued 17 1/2in. barrel (fore-sight missing), the rear-sight block marked 'STERLING ARMAMENTS CO.' over 'HR81' (see below) over 'CAL .22', the left side marked 'PAT. PENDING REG. DESIGN' over the serial number, bolt action single-shot pellet feed, blued air-chamber and under-lever, hand chequered walnut stock, two-stage colour-hardened trigger, black crackle finished muzzle-cap and trigger-guard bow and fitted with 'Q.D.' swivels, together with its manufacturers card carton, appearing very little used throughout.
A RARE .36 REMINGTON NEW MODEL ARMY PERCUSSION REVOLVING CARBINE, CIRCA 1865, serial no. 320, with 16in. (possibly shortened) round barrel, top flat stamped with the Remington address and patent legend, rocky mountain style front-sight and hinged leaf rear-sight, fitted with extra long rifle pattern loading lever, solid frame, the top strap with a sighting groove, walnut butt with some repairs and fitted with crescent buttplate and scroll trigger-guard with finger spur.
A RARE .22 CO2-POWERED AIR-PISTOL BY CROSMAN, MODEL '451 MILITARY 45', serial no. 001730, only produced for one year between 1969-70, with grey powder-coated frame and receiver styled in the guise of a Colt 1911 type pistol, blacked top-cover with concealed rotary drum magazine, brown chequered plastic grips, adjustable sights and exposed hammer.
A RARE CRIMEAN WAR .704 PATTERN 1851 PERCUSSION RIFLE MUSKET MARKED TO THE 1ST BATTALION COLDSTREAM GUARDS, CIRCA 1853, no visible serial number, with 39in. barrel rifled with four grooves, stamped with Ordnance proofs at breech (faint), block and blade front-sight and ladder rear-sight, the Lovell's pattern bar-action borderline engraved lock with the Crown V.R. cypher on the tail and '1853 TOWER' to the centre, together with the small crown broad arrow government ownership mark, regulation brass-mounted full walnut stock, the right side of the butt stamped 'B.O.' for Board of Ordnance, the buttcap engraved '1. B. C. G. / K / 42' indicating issue to the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, K company, gun number 42, Lovell's spring bayonet catch protruding through nosecap, complete with sling swivels and correct rod, barrel and stock refinished with loss of sharpness.
A RARE PRISON OFFICER'S SWORD ETCHED FOR PARKHURST PRISON, circa 1850, with slightly curved 22in. steel blade fullered on each side, single-edged for 3/4 of its length with the lower quarter ending in a spear point, etched 'PARKHURST PRISON' to one side with scroll-work and 'PARKER / FIELD & SON / 33 / Holborn / London' over, original leather washer, steel hilt, knuckle and cross-guard with quillion stamped with Broad Arrow and '20', fish-skin grip bound with brass wire; together with its black leather scabbard with steel fittings and black leather frog, a few rust spots on the steel-work, fish-skin grip worn exposing wood beneath, chape loose. AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE PALE GREEN GLASS TARGET BALL FOR HOCKEY'S PATENT AUTOMATIC TRAP, circa 1885, the 2 3/4in. diameter body with raised decoration in the form of netting except the end panels which have raised wavy armed stars, one of which states in moulded letters around the edge 'FOR HOCKEYS PATENT TRAP' (mild chipping around the neck aperture, small impact crack and blister which does not detract).

RICHARDS 153 DALE STREET LIVERPOOL', plain six shot cylinder, foliate engraved action body, finely chequered one piece walnut grips, with oval domed buttcap with trap, belt hook removed, detachable loading lever missing, contained in its original green baize lined and partitioned oak case, the lid with fitted brass carrying handle, partitions solid, lining dirty and lid lining removed.
A RARE 15.04mm MODEL 1857 PRUSSIAN DREYSE NEEDLEFIRE (ZUNDNAELGEWEHR) CAVALRY CARBINE, CIRCA 1871, serial no. 2272, with 15in. octagonal to round barrel rifled with four deep grooves, fitted with leaf rearsights, the tall triangular fore-sight is protected by the winged nosecap, the breech marked with Prussian military proof and inspection stamps and on the knoxform 'STAHL' and on the left side of the action 'SOMMERDA / MOD: 57' and on the right, the year of manufacture 1871, full walnut stock with raised cheek-rest, the butt stamped with the cypher of King Wilhelm of Prussia and Emperor of Germany, brass butt-cap two piece iron and brass trigger-guard, and iron nosecap. A EXCEPTIONALLY RARE .577 LANCASTER OVAL BORE 3-BAND GOVERNMENT TRIALS RIFLE , EX-ENFIELD PATTERN ROOM COLLECTION, CIRCA 1862, No. 4, with 39in. barrel with elliptical or oval bore gain twist rifling, the pitch increasing from 36in. at the breech to 33in. at the muzzle, the major axis of the bore is .580in. and the minor .572in., the rifling specifications closely follows that of the Lancaster Royal Engineers carbine except there is a slight reduction in calibre to suit the new Service .55in. bullet, the rifle is fitted with the usual military pattern block and blade foresight and ladder rear-sight, the barrel is engraved '151 NEW BOND ST. LONDON' to the front of the rear-sight and stamped with London proofs at the breech and 'LANCASTER'S PATENT', the lock is the standard P53 pattern with borderline engraving and the makers name 'C. LANCASTER' to the centre, regulation brass mounted full walnut stock the underside of the butt is stamped '97' and the white painted collection inventory number '629', the butt-cap is engraved '4', the rifle is complete with its sling swivels and correct pattern rod.
A RARE .177 WEBSTER'S 'DARE DEVIL DINKUM' AIR-PISTOL, no visible serial number, circa 1925, with nickel-plated tapering smoothbore 6in. barrel, small bolt-action receiver, fixed open sights consisting of a fore-sight pillar and standing notch rear-sight, the left side of receiver marked 'WEBSTERS DARE DEVIL DINKUM PISTOL' with the model name sharing an oversize capital 'D', integral swept cast grip with semi-birdshead pommel, the action cocked via a rod protruding at heel with a special tool (included), integral trigger unit and applied trigger guard bow, much plated finish remaining on both pistol and cocking tool.
