"Correos Aéreos/Cartagena" oval cachet on reverse applied to airmail. The only cover known bearing any vignette of this provisional issue and addressed to a foreign destination -its significance is reinforced by the fact that very few vignettes with typewritten surcharge were produced-, and the desirability of this cover is further enhanced by the very rare usage of the C.C.N.A. handstamp of the Medellín Agency (as also stated by Eugenio Gebauer in his catalogue on page 41). A rare early provisonal-flight, further enhanced by one of the largest frankings known of this value. Scott C14.

Lot 1095

1920 ca. 30c. black on rose, signed "G. Mejía" by Gonzalo Mejía at New York, used on piece, together with National Post 3c., tied by "Servicio Postal Aéreo/SCADTA/Barranquilla" circular handstamp.
