A rare, fine and heavy, solid silver Cup with handle, the thickly cast body decorated in relief with bulls and a single male figure, maker's mark G.N. R.H., 9.5cm diameter, assayed Birmingham 1900, approx. 337g, CONDITION REPORT: This looks generally very good with no real problems, it appears to be in reasonable condition although the handle is slightly angled downwards (see image). There are no holes or splits to the piece and appears very heavy being cast from solid silver. The underside of the base has minor scratches commensurate with age as expected. Otherwise generally in very good overall condition. No engravings or lettering is noted apart from the hallmark.
A rare 18th century Worcester porcelain bowl; very finely gilded and decorated with a Japan pattern, the interior decorated centrally with prunus and the high circular foot with two concentric circles surrounding a 'Chinese' four-character mark in blue, 17.5cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: Minor scratching exhibited on the inside of the bowl when viewed under a glass. Some glaze crazing, some minor rubbing to gilt edge border. The main decoration looks good and bright. The underside of the foot rim has several very minor chips but upon close inspection the Auctioneer thinks this was probably caused by the firing process as they are covered in glaze and this doesn't look as if it's been done subsequently.

COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS, World Medals, Turkey, Vatican / Poland / Turkey, Innocent XI, Odescalchi (1611-1676-1689), the Battle of Parkany (9 October, 1683), Victory of the Christian Forces, commanded by Jan Sobieski, over the Turks, Bronze Medal, 1684, by Giovanni Hamerani, bust right in tiara, legend ends MAXI, rev Madonna and child, seated on image of her house, banner above, battle scene below, TVRCIS ET PARKAN CAES … in exergue, 39mm (Linc 1461; HCz 2482). Fine and very rare. The Turkish forces were commanded by Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha (1634/35-1683), a central figure the Turkish Empire’s last attempts at expansion into central and eastern Europe. The banner depicted was placed in the Church of Notre Dame at Loretto, to where the Casa Sata is said to have been transported by four angels.
William John Caparne (British, 1856-1940), 'Nerines', watercolour on gold paper, signed and inscribed verso, 12 5/8 x 8¾in. (32 x 22.25cm.). * This is a fine and particularly dramatic example of Caperne's use of coloured paper in executing botanical studies and is an extremely rare example of a study of the nerine, as featured in some of his most sought after views of Guernsey greenhouses.
Ethel Sophia Cheeswright (British, 1874-1977), Dixcart Bay, Sark, oil on canvas board, signed 'E. S. Cheeswright' lower right, 6 1/8 x 9 7/8in. (15.5 x 25cm.). * Cheeswright painted often in watercolour but extremely rarely in oil. This study of the Sark cliffs with the natural arch of Dixcart Bay as the prominent and central theme is a very rare excursion into oil by the artist.
A rare Chinese carved hardwood watch stand, 19th century, in the form of a monument, the top carved with two dragons around a flaming pearl and a four character seal mark, the hinged trunk door similarly carved with dragons and a central pearl amidst clouds, with circular watch aperture holding a later oversized plated pocket watch, on a diaper carved base with pierced balcony and key carved plinth base, 18in. (47cm.) high, base 7¼ x 5½in. (18.5 x 14cm.), minor damage and losses to balcony.* Condition: Part of the capping of the front left post of the balcony has been chipped and there is a small chip from the front left top rail. There is a small piece broken from the hidden fascia enclosing the watch, in front of the winder and its stem - approx ¾ x ½in.
An extremely rare and unusual antique Burmese / Indian bronze tattoo stick pen, probably 18th century, the four part hand-forged bronze needle with screw thread fittings, the upper section unscrewing to reveal a well for ink, the tip with split nib/point, 17½in. (44.4cm.) long.* Condition: In good condition, with very little wear, nice patina.
A rare early 20th century Omani Khanjar dagger-side knife and belt, removable steel blade (later addition), waisted horn hilt with silver mounts, decorative silver scabbard with four cast silver rings, silver embroidered leather belt and side knife with Sheffield steel blade (possibly a later addition) to scabbard, 12½in. (31.75cm.) long overall.* Condition: In very good condition, showing a little age related wear.
An extremely rare early 18th century Channel Islands silver christening cup, maker's mark HL crowned and a separately struck coronet, both struck once below rim (unknown, probably Jersey), the body of typical form but unusually broad and with only slightly everted rim, inscribed 'N.MT' over 'T.LL' and dated 1727, with exceptionally unusual (possibly unique) shaped (not cast) S-scroll handles, on a waisted foot, 2¾in. (7cm.) high. * A Jersey pattern christening cup with the same maker's mark, but with a separately struck star (rather than coronet) was offered in The Michael Paint Collection of Channel Islands Silver, Martel Maides Auctions, 18th October 2017, lot 137.
A rare Channel Islands silver photo frame, Bruce Russell, Guernsey 1995, possibly unique, the frame depicting engraved Guernsey scenes to each corner of The Little Chapel, Castle Cornet, St Sampsons Harbour and Bordeaux Harbour, 9 x 7¼in. (23 x 18.3cm.).* Condition: In very good condition with no faults.
Jules Moigniez (French, 1835-1894), a fine and extremely rare cased gilt bronze letter opener with wax seal, in the form of a pheasant's head and feather, the handle modelled as the head with bright red glass eyes, the handle terminating in a monogrammed seal, the blade as a detailed feather grasped in its beak, signed to underside of beak 'J Moigniez', 13¾in. (34.5cm.) long, in the original fitted retailer's box, with faux crocodile print exterior, the box opening to reveal a silk lined fitted interior, with retailer's stamp to lid 'ALA RENAISSANCE 47.49 Bould St Martin PARIS'.* Condition: The letter opener in excellent condition with no faults, the case with little wear to underside and interior but in very good condition.
