Gilt mounted Field Marshal buttons support the brown leather chinstrap. The interior with leather sweatband and tailors details. VGC. .... The hat is accompanied by a signed photograph of the FM Gibbs. ... Contained in an incorrect Herbert Johnson box with ink note "Given to me by Field Marshal Sir Roland Gibb. (3 Parts) Field Marshal Sir Roland Christopher Gibbs, GCB, CBE, DSO, MC, KStJ, DL was Commissioned into the King's Royal Rifle Corps in December 1939. He saw service in North Africa, Italy and D-Day. Remaining with the Army in the post war years he was promoted Field Marshal in 1979, having held the post of Chief of the General Staff 1976-79.

WW2 Japanese Army Combat Helmet & Cover. A very good and rare example. The steel combat helmet retains the original green painted finish to the shell and Star device to the front. The interior with original leather lining pads and webbing chinstrap harness. Complete with original six panel green slightly padded cotton field cover with cloth yellow star to the front and to the interior ink issue stamps. Very good untouched condition. The helmet is accompanied by a contemporary black and white photograph tucked into the lining, possibly the wife or sweetheart of the original owner. Information supplied by the vendor indicates the cover is dated 1943 with inspection stamps.

ADERhodesian Cast Brass Cap Badge with maker's details of Walimohd Nairobi. Mr Edwin George Ade was born in Lambeth London in 1876, emigrated to Rhodesia during the Boer War he was awarded the QSA and KSA for services with the Southern Rhodesian Regiment Volunteers and during WW2 is noted as serving with the Army Territorial Force. He died in 1955 at Bromley Mashonaland East Zimbabwe.

Gloucestershire Regiment attributed 1878 Pattern Territorial Officer's helmet. A good and rare post 1902 example of the Home Service Pattern blue cloth helmet by Samuel Gardner & Co. Complete with gilt metal cross piece, spike and rose head bosses supporting a velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a gilt metal helmet plate, within the Garter, a silver Sphinx resting on a blank tablet (indicating Militia or Territorial Battalion) set on a black velvet ground. To the base of the wreath an applied silver tri-part scroll inscribed “The Gloucestershire Regimentâ€. The interior with leather sweatband and original taliors paper label with name "P.L.COATES", this name is repeated in ink. Overall a very good clean example, gilt bright. Retains original helmet plate as worn. Militia and Territorial Battalions were not authorised to wear the famous back badge.Attributed to Lieutenant Colonel P.L. Coates DSO., TD.,MID. who was commissioned into 3rd VB and promted Captain in 1905 . He continued to serve with the 1/6th Bn being awarded the DSO (Jan 1917) He would during the Great War be attached and command the 2/5th Bn Royal Warwickshire Regiment

1900 Pattern Royal Navy Boarding Cutlass A rare example, with straight fullered 28-inch blade with stamped 00 on back edge, and EFD and 01 on the forte. Polished sheet-steel guard with lapped edges,stamped with N, broad arrow, EFD and various numbers. Chequered leather grip with hand-stop. Housed in its black leather scabbard with steel mounts and frog button. Some spotting to blade and rust to the inner guard. Clean condition.

Royal Navy GVR / GVIR Period Flag Officer’s Sword. A rare example with special pattern scabbard indicating worn by a Flag Officer of the Royal Navy. The straight blade etched with a Crowned fouled anchor. To the forte the retailers details of Gieves. Solid gilt metal folding guard, embossed with a post 1902 fouled anchor device. White shagreen grip and lion’s head pommel. Housed in leather scabbard with gilt metal mounts, these embossed with floral decoration indicating Flag Officer Rank. Blade has been professionally refurbished during its working life, gilt remains bright.

Royal Air Force RAF Officer's Full Dress Parade Busby Helmet circa 1921-39. A rare example of the flying helmet-inspired ‘Busby’ headdress. Black chromed leather skull trimmed with black nutria fur. Plaited gold and pale blue cord festoon to front. Black patent leather chinstrap. Complete with blue-grey ostrich-feather plume (woven gold bullion socket absent). Minor fur loss, near VGC with slight wear. Busby Badge Absent Full dress was introduced in 1920, the busby followed in 1921 however the badge did not obtain official approval until 26th January 1923. Full dress was discontinued at the outbreak of WW2.

Gen. Charles de Gaulle's interpreter for Sir Winston Churchill  during WWII, WWI & WWII Knighthood group of twelve British and French medals to Sir Douglas Lloyd Savory MP (17 August 1878 – 5 October 1969), later a British MP for Ireland. Includes his British War Medal and later EIIR Coronation medal. During WWI he served in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve attached to Room 40 in his role as part of the Naval Cryptanalysis department (famous for cracking the German naval codes during WWI and decoding the Zimmerman report). Later during WWII, he became special investigator into the Katyn massacre of Polish officers in 1940, and later worked as interpreter between General de Gaulle and Sir Winston Churchill, and arranged for de Gaulle to address members of Parliament. For his work with the French he was awarded Officier d'Academia with miniature (1923), Officier de l'Instruction Publique (1926), Chevalier de la Legion d'honneur (1928), and Officier de la Legion d'honneur (1959). He was knighted in 1952. There is a brooch in the shape of the family chrest included made by Cahoon Bros, Castle Place, Belfast in original box. He was also president of the Huguenot Society of London, and his Jewel for the society is included together with an American associate Jewel, also with a Lay Readers Association Diocese of Down & Connor & Dromore neck order. Included are his collection of Free French and Free Polish Army WWII Pin Badges with silver, gilt and enamel variants (13 in total) and military compass. A rare group with great provenance.

Rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with the 3-6-9 Explorer dial, reference no. 5513, circa 1964, serial no. 1170xxx, black gloss 'Swiss 'T-** Single owner from new when purchased on the 1st November 1965 from Regent Jewellers Ltd, 93 regent St, London W1. Also included is a service receipt confirming the serial number undertaken by Watches of Switzerland from 1984. The name of the owner is listed on this receipt. -**  The owner was a model maker by trade and worked originally for the British Railway Model Department. He later joined the modelling workshop of Gerry Anderson who created 'Thunderbirds'  in the 1960s. -** Gardiner Houlgate sold an identical example of this model with the serial number 12 digits later than this example in 2017, for a hammer price of £135,000. -IMPORTANT BIDDING NOTICE – All prospective bidders are requested to contact the auctioneer prior to the sale, as proof of identification will be required to bid on this item.Box and Papers - with the guarantee booklet.Movement - appears currently functioning.Dial - the dial has a very nice gloss patina, with very mild and limited 'spidering' as expected for a dial of this period, this is particularly present around the numerals when viewed beneath a 10x loupe, there is a very small mark to the left of the 6 numerals, also a small fragment of lume has become loose and sits just past the 2 position at present. There is natural wear to the lumes as shown in the UV image. - see all images for guidance.
