Very rare circular knitting shirt - it was produced just like stockings are being knitted and thus does not have any seams . The number on the back is made of faux leather. The French international Simon played for Nantes and was the top goalscorer of season 1964/65 in France. He scored 24 times.

ALS A 23.6 x 19cm, one page letter wrtitten on both sides from Admiral Horatio Nelson to his relative Lord Horatio Walpole, dated at head ""Victory off London, Dec. 29th 1804"" and signed at foot ""Nelson & Bronte"". Two vertical folds intersecting one mid-horizontal fold. Yellowing to paper, but Nelson`s signature remains clear and crisp. Minor damp staining. Some chipping and repairs to left margin. The letter was sent from the HMS Victory, Nelson`s flagship at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Nelson writes: "" I do assure you that I have the very highest Res. and Esteem and, if I might be allowed the expression, affection for you and every part of your family. Young [Nevil] is a very excellent young man and his good conduct has not escaped my observation and you may rely, my Dear Lord Rev. Honorable Lord Walpole, not only upon him but upon any occasion which may offer that. I shall be truly happy to meet your wishes for I haver shall forget the many favours, kind help and you have shown me and many parts of our family"". The title ""Bronte"" was given to Nelson for his support in maintaining the King of the Two Sicilies Ferdinand III on the throne by repressing the revolutionary riots in Naples in 1799. A rare document illustarting the family relationship between Nelson and the Walpoles.

Bay Area Research Collective, Berkeley, 8/20/75. Mid-horizontal fold, light wear to edges. The NWLF portion of the broadside was issued by the ""Jonathan Jackson/ Sam Melville Unit"" which claims credit for the bombing of the Emeryville Police Station saying that it ""is a warning to the rabid dogs who murder our children in cold blood"". The other side features a red-toned photograph of marching policemen and describes a riot and pitched battle between SWAT / Police and `residents` of the ""Casa Blanca barrio in Riverside"", Southern California. Lot also includes a copy of issue no. 3 of ""Dragon"", printed by BARC in October 1975, texts and illustrations in purple and black on white, blue and yellow stock. Stapled into the original illustrated white paper wrappers and housing two foolscap NWLF Communiques folded and loosely inserted. Slightly dustry jacket and browned edges, the communiques creased, a bit torn and with brown stains. Plus a four page ""Dragon Supplement"" entitled ""NWLF Attack Strategy 11-3-75"", 8vo, blue paper folded once, three mimeographed illustartions. The supplement is an ""open letter to all units"" of the NWLF and claims to speak for ""poor people"" who ""are outraged at the `Sinai peace accord"". The pamphlet goes on to discuss Kissinger, oil-based foreign policy and calls for smashing of the ""deranged dog-eat-dog order that butchers and creates nightmare lives four countless poor people"". The Bay Area Research Collective were Symbionese Liberation Army sympathizers. Very rare urban guerrilla ephemera.

Black and white illustration in a box with captions and alphabetical keys. London, J & S Fuller, printed by F. Moser, 26 February 1820. Browning and spotting to paper, creasing and wear to edges. Commercially and institutionally very rare. The Cato Street Conspirancy was a complot led by Arthur Thistlewood with the aim of murdering all the British ministers and the Prime Minister Lord Liverpool in 1820. It is named after the meeting place of the plotters in Cato Street, near Edgware Road in London. The first plate is a ""View of Cato Street"", the second is a view of the ""Hay Loft where Thistlewood & the conspirators assembled to assassinate His Majesty`s Ministers"". The third shows the ""Secretary Room"" where the plotters retreated. These lithographs are the `plain` version, which retailed at a shelling a piece, whereas coloured prints were sold at 2 shellings a piece.

A fascinating item.

Gandhi) and Sarojini Naidu on 18.7 x 11.8cm paper with embossed letterhead of the House of Commons. A handwritten annotation in blue ink below the autographs reports that Gandhi signed with his left hand and that both signatures were obtained on September 16, 1931 when the two Indian leaders were in London to attend the India Round Table Conference. Mid horizontal fold and some yellowing to paper. Signatures are clear and crisp. Accompanied by original envelope, stamped and postmarked ""London E.C., September 16, 6.15pm, 1931 D"". The Second Round Table Conference to discuss constitutional reforms in India took place from September to November 1931.On September 16 Gandhi gave a speech on India`s demand for independence to a meeting of Labour M.P.s.

Horizontal creases, some foxing, minor wear to page edges. Handstamped ""Jan 26 1971"" on cover. The pages contain the text, written in Gaelic and English, of the speech given by the Sinn Fein President Mac Giolla at the Party Conference in Dublin in January 1970. On that occasion Sinn Fein experienced a significant split when the decision of abandoning the armed fight of the IRA in favour of a communism-influenced approach aimed to eliminate social differences met the opposition from the armed wing of the party. The opponents became known as ""Provisional Sinn Fein"", whereas the remaining part named itself ""Official Sinn Fein"".

The card also features a dark green and white ribbon close to fold. Overall size 19.3 x 34.3cm when opened. Light wear to edges, else in very good condition.

Highlights include a 27 x 21cm typed letter on light blue paper, signed ""P.G. Wodehouse"" at foot in ink. In the letter, dated March 17, 1936 Wodehouse writes: ""I`m not quite sure which of the Jeeves stories I like best, but I much prefer the third series, ""Very Good Jeeves"" to the other two. I think, though, that, if you want me to choose one, I will choose ""The Great Sermon Handicap"", with ""The Song of Songs"" as runner-up"". Mailing folds and light creasing to corners. Also included in the lot is a clipped signature of Ernest Rutherford, signed letters from Vita Sackville- West, Ivor Brown, the musicologist Susi Jeans, the mathematician Alfred N. Whitehead, the archaeologist Aurel Stein and others, along with a rare ""Wonderland"" Postage-Stamp Case, decorated with illustrations from Lewis Carroll`s ""Alice in Wonderland"". An interesting and mixed collection. Viewing recommended.

""Monty Python Live at Drury Lane"" was the first recording of a live performance of the Pythons. Graham Chapman autographs are particularly rare and highly collectable.

An extremely rare original poster from the iconic clothing boutique of the `Swinging London`, which boasted among his customers Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger.

He is universally regarded as the creator of the modern American musical.

Rare. Culverwell, one of the principal scholars of the seventeenth century, delivered this important series of sermons in the chapel of Emmanuel College Cambrdge in 1645-46. In them he examines the relationship between reason and faith, and forms one of the first attempts in English Protestantism to stress the role of reason in ethics and to develop a doctrine of natural law .

The first part of a rare 2-volume work published by the politician Henry Drummond at great personal expense. According to Warren ( The Charles Whittingham Printers, pp. 148-9), only 4 complete sets of this work were issued, although a second edition was issued in 1846. This volume contains portraits, monuments, busts, effigies, genealogies etc. of the familes of Ashburnham, Arden and Compton of Compton Wynyates and Castle Ashby, Cecil of Burghley, and Harley.

Provenance: Maximiliani Lezzani (stamp on titles). A very important and rare botanica book, one of the rarest Italian Florilegia. The work deals with the anatomy of the flower, its reproduction (including an early discussion of pollination), horticulture, the cultivation of flowers and the creation of a flower garden.

Pieces are generally good. Boxes are in poor condition. There are no notes indicating whether or not any pieces are missing.
A rare 17th century English provincial silver twin handled porringer, the bellied bowl with twin scrolling handles and simple stepped base, struck twice to the rim, possibly for Thomas Cory of Warminster, and with traces of wriggle work decoration including a date of 1669, width 14.75cm, height 8cm, approx 4.3ozt. CONDITION REPORT: See extra photos for issues. Two repaired splits to rim. One handle repaired. Rubbed marks.
A rare and early Steiff clockwork teddy bear, the right arm twisting to start the clockwork action of both arms rotating to self right the bear, retaining Steiff button to left ear, height 33cm. Given as a gift to the vendor's father in 1913. CONDITION REPORT: The bear has been better days, the right ear is missing, there has been restitching and repadding throughout, lots of areas of loss to the plush. The vendor also thinks that in her lifetime it had a growler, but this is also now not working.
A rare early 20th century mulatto doll with porcelain head fixed glass eyes, composition body and limbs, wearing a purple dress with gold earrings, height 30cm. This doll was owned as a child by Evelyn Tradewell born 1898 and was regarded as odd, being the first doll of colour seen in the village. CONDITION REPORT: Very good condition for age but slight damage to hands. Indistinct marks to back of head.
