A rare George II Channel Islands silver lidded quart tankard, maker's mark GH struck three times beneath rim, to handle and top of cover, together with harp and K letter marks beneath rim (Guillaume Henry, Guernsey c.1720-1767), the tapered, straight sided tankard with domed hinged cover with shell thumbpiece and tapered S-scroll handle with bifurcated terminal, the body and cover with extensive later repoussé decoration around an earlier engraved armorial for the Carey family of Guernsey, with gilt washed interior, engraved scratch weight to base, 'oz. 29 1/8', 7in. (17.75cm.) high, weight 26.6 tr.oz.

An 18th century Channel Islands silver christening cup with rare duty drawback mark, maker's mark ID overstruck over London hallmarks three times to base (Jean Pierre du Port, Guernsey fl. c.1779-1788), also with intaglio king's head and Britannia duty drawback marks to base, of typical form with flared body, cast beaded S-scroll handles and short, waisted foot, inscribed to side, 'a MGB don de IRG & MMQ parain & maraine, Nèe le 7 Juin 1785', also scratch engraved initials 'BWM' to base, 2¾in. (6.8cm.) high, weight 2.7 tr.oz * Approx. 20 Guernsey christening cups with the duty drawback mark are known. Although bearing overstruck London marks, they are believed to have been made in Guernsey and later sent to England where the London marks were added and then overstruck with Guernsey marks on their return.

London, printed for the author, sold by Joseph Collier 1745, small 8vo, engraved frontispiece after Hogarth, title in red, somewhat soiled, p.121-247 misnumbered 201-327, first and last leaves creased and worn, 5pp adverts at end, binding detached, lacking one board. **Written by the author of The London Spy (a survey of the London lowlife scene), this rare work provides florid descriptions of curious clubs such as the No-Nose Club, the Farting Club, the Man-killing Club, the Club of Ugly Faces and the Chatter-Witt Club, the Mock-Heroes Club and the Small-Coal Man's Music Club.
