London and South Western Railway 8 inch dial mahogany cased fusee clock supplied to the LSWR around 1870 by John walker of London. The rectangular plated chain driven fusee movement has turned pillars and a shaped back cock. The mahogany case has a one piece turned surround, dovetailed back box with one side door and a bottom door with cock beading secured by a brass lock, it also retains its original cast brass bezel. The original dial is lettered L.S.W.R 3598 and has typical John walker heart shaped hands. The Southern Railway clock records show this clock as last being in use at Cosham Signal Box. In working condition complete with pendulum and key. A rare clock that has retained its pre grouping dial writing.

London and North Western Railway 12 inch dial mahogany cased fusee clock supplied to the LNWR around 1860 by John Walker of London. The rectangular plated chain driven fusee movement has turned pillars and a shaped back cock. The mahogany case with LNWR enamel clock numberplate 2180 screwed to the left hand side has a thin one piece turned surround with bezel lock removed, dovetailed back box with one side door and a bottom door with cock beading secured by a brass lock, it also retains its original cast brass bezel hinged to the left. The original dial is lettered L&N.W.R JNo Walker 40 Princess St Leicester Squ 5846 and has typical John walker heart shaped hands. In working condition complete with pendulum and key. A rare clock that has retained its pre grouping dial writing.

LMS glass lamp tablets MID CLYTH, LYBSTER, OCCUMSTER, all 3 from the former Wick and Lybster light railway operated by the Highland Railway and then the LMS. The branch was closed in 1944 which makes these exceptionally rare survivors. Transfer printed black on yellow mounted on glass measuring 10.5in x 3.5in. Some slight loss.

The back box has two side doors a rear opening door and a bottom door with the lock removed and replaced with the GWR ball catch and knob modification. An ivorine numberplate GWR 701 is screwed onto the left hand side of the case. The dial has been repainted post 1948 BR-W. A rare clock dating from around 1870, complete and in working condition, with pendulum and key. Ex Henwick Station Worcester.

Lot 364

Great Eastern Railway 8 inch dial mahogany cased fusee clock supplied to the GER by Arnold and Lewis of Manchester circa 1890. The rectangular plated chain driven fusee movement has turned pillars and snailed plates. The Balloon style mahogany case has a back door with lock, and a cast brass bezel with convex glass with four round brass feet. The Silvered convex dial has Arnold & Lewis Manchester engraved and wax filled and BR(E) hand painted at the top and the clock number 880 on the rear of the dial. it also has time keeping adjustment via a key operated square. The pendulum has a zinc cylindrical bob. A fine clock that is shown in the LNER clock records as being in use at the Great Eastern Hotel Liverpool St London Abercorn rooms, there is a copy of a GER postcard clearly showing this clock and a copy of the LNER clock records. Measures 20in tall x 12in wide x 7in deep and is in working condition complete with pendulum and key. A rare clock with added provenance of an image of it in situ.

BR (S) wooden carriage board SILVER ARROW painted silver on blue and measuring 31in long. In good condition complete with original metal ends. The Silver Arrow Flèche d'Argent was an intermodal transport service linking Victoria station in London with the Gare du Nord in Paris, via Le Touquet Airport. In operation between 1956 and the opening of the Channel Tunnel, it used a combination of rail and air transport. A rare sign in very good condition.

Rhymney Railway Pocket Watch, by the Spiridion & Son of Cardiff. A good quality English made watch with top wind and top set for time adjustment. The dial is clean and has a small chip by the four o'clock number and also R.R Co 128 Spiridion & Son Cardiff is enamelled below the XII position. The good quality Nickel case has matching numbers 554 to all parts and the back of the case has it later GWR number 2548 machine engraved into it. The numbered movement 463548 is fully signed Kays Worcester. A rare pre grouping watch in fully cleaned and working condition.
