WASHINGTON', the left 'MANUFACTURED BY THE MASS. ARMS CO. CHICOPEE FALLS', central hammer with offset nose, factory fitted folding ladder tang-sight, walnut slab-sided butt-stock stamped '442' on the left side and with heavy iron crescent heel-plate, reverse opening 'patchbox' for spare primer rolls, the lid marked 'MAYNARD PATENTEE MAY 27 1851, JUNE 17 1856', the inside of box with paper label printed with 'MAYNARD PATENTEE' and six patent dates to December 6th 1859, underlever opening, the lever forming the trigger-guard, rare factory fitted double set triggers, much finish and colour remaining throughout.
