Rare Chinese book, Qinding Xiqing gujian. [Catalogue of the Xiqing antiquities], published 14th year of the reign of Qianlong 1749, documenting the Palace collection of ritual bronzes with archaic inscriptions, dimensions and weights, 6 volumes with yellow wrappers, in a blue cloth folding case, 25.6cm Provenance - A. T. Arber-CookeCONDITION: The outer folding case has damage and staining to the blue cloth and losses and tears to the paper and card lining. Fortunately the books have survived in reasonable condition.All six volumes have some slight wear and creasing to the outer yellow paper wrappers with ink numbers, minor browning near edges of pages and a feint stain near the lower edge of most pages. Additional faults-Volume 1 -loose silk stitching to back of binding. Ink inscription on inside page.Volume 2 - Tiny area of worm damage to front edge of a few leaves.Volume 3 - loss to corner of back wrapperVolume 4 - slight black ink marking on cover and small loss to labelVolume 5 - slight staining to labelVolume 6 - slight staining and losses to label and black ink mark to cover. loose silk stitching to back of binding.Provenance - Alfred Theodore Arber-Cooke (c.1905-1993); thence by family descent. Arber-Cooke was an antiquarian and avid collector of Asian works of art, and antiquities principally collecting from the 1930s to the 1970s. He amassed a good reference library on Chinese & Asian coins and wrote on several occasions (1969-70) to to the academic F.A. Turk regarding the study of coin amulets and other non-currency coinages of China. A number of the Asian numismatic reference books will be offered in our 29th March sale.Arber-Cooke initially lived in Wimbledon, Greater London and was involved with the Surrey Archaeological Society. He wrote the book 'Old Wimbledon', with a foreword the MP Sir Arthur Fell, published in 1927. He later moved to Llandovery in Carmarthenshire, Wales, again involved with local archaeology and wrote the History of Llandovery, published in 1975.

A rare Mintons majolica 'squirrel' vase, modelled by Paul Comolera, impressed mark, model number 2070 and date code for 1877, 28cm highCONDITION: The vase has been extensively broken and reglued with some losses to the tree bough, both ears of the squirrel, a section of the rim of the vase, the leaves at the top and bottom, the breaks also include across the squirrels left shoulder and the end of its tail, please see photographs on our website.
A rare Chamberlains Worcester Kakiemon pattern part dessert service, c.1820, each piece painted to the centre with flowers and foliage surrounded by flowering prunus branches, the oval basket and five dessert dishes with floral sprigging to the pierced borders, painted marks Chamberlains Worcester, the oval basket 26.5cm acrossCONDITION: All items with some occasional wear to the gilding, the service comprises fourteen pieces, one of the dessert plates has a large open crack, two further dessert plates have shallow chips to the upper edge of the rim, two of the heart shaped dishes are badly broken and messily re-glued with losses around the area, otherwise three dessert dishes, the basket and six plates are in reasonable condition with only wear to the gilding.
A rare William De Morgan lustre bowl, c.1890, decorated by A. Farini, Fulham period, the exterior painted with Persian style flowers in copper and other lustres, on a cobalt blue ground, on three leaf and paw moulded feet, the interior with a copper and silver lustre eight pointed star, the base inscribed 'F' within a star and 'In Fabbrica W. De Morgan & Co, Londra', 21.5cm diameterCONDITION: Splinter chip to the outer edge of the rim with associated hairline crack. Two further short hairline cracks to the interior in line with two of the feet. Other minor glaze imperfections.Literature -A. Farini worked for De Morgan in Fulham 1890-91 and introduced him to sgraffito decoration. He also decorated wares for De Morgan which were then fired at the Cantagalli factory in Italy, where De Morgan spent several years and from where he also sent designs home to England to be executed. cf. a plate with sgraffito decoration with the same maker's mark in Italian but dated 1890 in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, accession no. CIRC.338-1965.
A rare WWII Second World War Third Reich Nazi German RLB ( Reichsluftshutzbund ) German Air Protection Service officers uniform dagger. The dagger having a flat pommel and ebonised wooden grip with the regimental badge. The cross guard being the wings of a German eagle atop a Swastika. The double edged blade stamped to the ricasso for SMF Solingen housed in a black steel scabbard. The attached leather frog with RZM mark to the clip. Measures approx 37cm.

Lance Corporal William Albert Warren of the 2/4th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment - Warren's original 1907 pattern Wilkinson made rifle bayonet. Regimentally marked to the pommel ' T 4DVN 420 ' (for Territorial 1/4th Battalion Devonshire Regiment). The bayonet of typical form with hooked pommel, carved walnut grips, hooped quillon, the ricasso marked Wilkinson, and dated 1907 with GR cipher. Other official stampings to other side. Housed in its original leather and steel scabbard. Generally in excellent original used condition. Supplied with a period picture postcard photograph of Warren in uniform, taken at Lyme Regis. Rare to see a bayonet with such provenance. William Albert Warren was born in Minehead, and Baptised on 7th November 1896. Son of William Frederick and Annie Warren. In 1911 he was residing with his parents at The Assembly Rooms, Lyme Regis, Dorset. During WW1 he served with the 2/4th Devonshire Regiment and later with the 4th Wiltshire Regiment. He married Ethel M. Mitchell in 1923 at Lyme Regis.

Thatcher Rare 2002/2003 Match Issued Tottenham Football Shirt: Short sleeve light blue Kappa shirt number 18. Issued for the last match of the season v Blackburn on 11 5 2003. This match was used to promote next seasons football shirt. Thatcher who didnt play was issued number 18 and in 2003/2004 that number was issued to Defoe.
1952 Tom Finney England Lion Of Vienna Match Worn Football Shirt: Red long sleeve collared shirt with number 7 to rear. 3 Lions breast badge has the words Austria 1951/52. Famous match in Englands history which is known as the Lion of Vienna match. Given by Finney to one of his workers whose family have provided a COA. Stunning rare item in very good condition worn by one of Englands greatest players.
1972 Russia CCCP Away Match Worn Football Shirt: White short sleeve with red trim including a prominent number 5 to rear and a bold CCCP to front. Worn v Republic Of Ireland on 18 10 1972 at Lansdowne Road. Swapped with Ireland and Manchester United player Mick Martin who will provide a COA. Mick seems to remember the player was named Vladimir Kaplitchny a CSKA Moscow player. Rare shirt.

1967 FA Cup Final Original Football Poster: Tottenham v Chelsea the first all London Cup Final. Measuring 24 x 25 inches in good condition stating Sporting Events Wembley Stadium with date and teams. Would look stunning framed as a great picture of Wembleys Twin Towers in yellow blue and white. Rare item is folded both ways. Marylebone written in pencil to rear. This was removed from the station after the match by vendor who was travelling through.
