A 1989 MG Maestro 2.0 EFI, registration number G559 FOJ, black. This MG is a rare survivor being one of less than 50 still registered on British roads. A well presented example which has only had two owners from new and displays a genuine 51,250 miles on the odometer. The MG is finished in gleaming black with a contrasting grey cloth interior and is said by the vendor to drive excellently. From information taken from the history file it can be seen that the Maestro was first registered to Rover Group as a company car on 24th August 1989 before being sold to Mrs Margaret Anne Castle on 15th December 1989 through Ken Hastings Motor Services, Rayleigh, Essex for £7,500. A 1990 Vauxhall Nova 1.4 L saloon, registration number H947 YFB, metallic blue. This rare Vauxhall comes direct from a deceased estate. The Nova has covered a believed 42,000 miles from new. In the accompanying history file there are a run of MOTs stretching back to 1998 when the recorded odometer reading was 13,122 miles. It is believed that there are only a handful of these models remaining on British roads and as such this example offers a good opportunity for the Vauxhall marque collector. A 1972 Fiat 850 coupé restoration project, registration number BJA 241K, white. This rare right hand drive 850 coupé has been partially stripped in readiness for a body restoration. Unfortunately this has not been completed. The vendor advises us that all of the components are there to re-assemble the car and the car is offered with an expired MOT issued January 16 2003. A 1986 Rover SDI Vitesse, registration number C354 PNV, chassis number SARRREW7CM342620, engine number 30A0003417, silver. With 40,000 miles from new, this rare twin Plenum Vitesse is presented in remarkable original condition. It has two registered keepers. It was originally registered to Castle Printing Company as Mr Keith Edward Castle's company car, who was the managing director at the time. It would subsequently pass into his personal ownership in 1991. The Rover would remain on the road until 2005 when the car went into storage. The Vitesse is finished in silver with a grey cloth interior. The vendor advises us that the car still runs well but will require recommissioning due to the time in storage. The accompanying history file contains ****most but not all MOTs from April 1989*** until the car was taken off the road, a purchase receipt for £11,000, maintenance receipts, SORNs and sundry paperwork. This original low mileage Vitesse will now appeal to collectors and enthusiasts alike who wish to experience the performance of an 1980s super saloon. A 1982 Land Rover Series III SWB County Station Wagon, registration number ROL 933Y, green. Land Rover's Series III was in production from 1971 to 1985 and became available with both diesel and petrol engines and in short and long wheel base configurations. This particular rare County example has covered a believed 67,000 miles and is described by the vendor as being in good original condition. The Land Rover has some desirable optional equipment fitted in the form of Fairey overdrive and free wheel hubs. There is a good accompanying history file with previous MOTs and ***receipts including recent works for a new exhaust and bulkhead repairs (no service and clutch receipt)*** and the last MOT which was passed without any advisories. A 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser VX Turbo, registration number G573 RDV, bronze. This rare short wheel base Land Cruiser was originally supplied by Pollitt of Exeter. It is a well maintained and original example which was owned by the previous keeper for over 20 years. The Toyota is offered for auction with an accompanying history file containing numerous receipts, previous expired MOTs, handbooks, original dealers wallet and some spares. A 1966 Ford Anglia De Luxe, registration number GFX 637D, Porcelain green. The vendor informs us that this rare Anglia is a remarkably well preserved example. The car has spent all of its life in Birgu, Malta until being imported. Consequently it is probably one of the least rusty of unrestored Anglias you could find and is now UK registered. We are advised that the recorded mileage of 35,000 is correct but there is no documentary evidence. The paint is largely original but it has several age related paint flaws but is clean and tidy. The interior is in a similar well preserved condition with the green vinyl seats having no splits or tears. A 2002 Cadillac STS Seville, registration number VO02 EUZ, metallic green. This rare luxury saloon has had one former registered keeper from new. A Swiss businessman who used the car extensively on business travelling. The Cadillac features all the usual executive equipment including a full cream leather interior. A 1991 Subaru SVX, registration number J200 SVX, red. This rare import was manufactured in 1991 and registered in 2003 in the UK. It featured the 3.3 litre Boxer flat six engine which produced 231 bhp and a top speed of 154 mph when new. From the first year of production it has the very distinctive and appropriate registration number J200 SVX and is offered for auction with an accompanying history file. A circa 1955 Mercedes-Benz (W120) 180D Ponton four door saloon restoration project, unregistered, Old English white. This rare right hand drive Mercedes is in need of full restoration. The body has corrosion damage to the outer panels but the floors and general structure seem sound. The blue leather interior appears complete and should respond well to cleaning and feeding. The wood dashboard is intact with all gauges and switch gear present. The Mercedes is a non runner but the engine is not seized, it selects gears on the column change and it rolled freely when pushed into position for the catalogue photographs. A 2005 Renault Megane 225 Sport, registration number RY05 MXR, blue. This relatively rare four door version of Renault's hot hatch has been owned by the fastidious lady vendor for the last eight years. It is a high specification example with a panoramic glass sunroof, remote total closure alarm, half black leather interior, and the all important full Renault service history which shows correct maintenance including ***a cambelt change in 2010 and new brakes in 2014.*** Now with 136,000 miles on the clock, this rapid Renault is reluctantly for sale because the vendor has purchased a new Renault convertible which means that the 225 is going to lose its garage space. A Rare Windsor Armchair by Gillows Circa 1800. The hoop back with ten long spindles piercing the arm bow, flanked by three further underarm spindle either side. The elm seat on turned legs united by a turned front stretchers with splayed side stretchers connecting it to the rear legs, 38½ ins (98 cms) high, 21½ ins (54.5 cms) wide, 23½ ins (60 cms) deep.
A Rare, Fabulous Quality 17th Century Ausberg Collector's Cabinet of miniature proportions, profusely inlaid with exotic animals amidst scrolling stems of green stain leaves, flowers and fruit edged in black painted moulding. The rectangular box with fall front enclosing various sized drawers edged in ripple moulding and surrounding a central door with gilt brass lock mechanism, 5 ins x 6 ins x 31/8 ins (13 cm x 15 cm x 9.3 cms).
A Rare & Important 15th Century Copper Alloy Dish, Dinant or Maline, 1450-1480. The centre panel embossed with lion amidst scrolling flames. The narrow flattened borders incised with a band of rim lines (old repairs to verso), 15 ins (38 cms) in diameter. [Similar examples can be found in The Metropolitan Museum of Arts]
A Rare Late 13th Century Medieval Limoges Altar Cruet (A/F). The copper pear-shaped ewer enriched with engraved enamel work depicting a winged angel in a roundel either side on a cobalt blue ground of scrolling foliate stems, The gilded handle surmounted by a lid hinge (lacking lid). The scrolling spout supported by a later brace. 6¼ ins (15.5 cms) in height. [Similar examples see The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; The Cloisters Collection, 1947 (47.101.39)]
A Rare 16th Century Bronze Mortar attributed to Wilhelm Hachman, Cleve, dated 1571. The protuberant handles cast in the form of a double scrolling sea creatures, with a band of text to the rim and foot interspersed with small leaping animals, bird and flower motifs: The pestle of later date with T-bar handle, 7¼ ins (18.5 cns) in length. The mortar 5 ins (12.5 cms) high, 5¼ ins (13.5 cms) in diameter.
A Small & Rare Carved Oak Child's Coffer of boarded construction. The lid having a moulded edge on iron hinges. The front board carved with two Romayne heads and slotting through the shaped end boards with imbricated scale carving either side. 20½ ins (52 cms), 20½ ins (52 cms) high, 25½ ins (wide, 9½ins (24 cms) deep.
A Pair of Rare 16th Century English Carved Oak Panels; One panel carved with a portrait head reputedly of William Strickland; Landowner, Navigator, and Introducer of Turkeys to England, wearing an extravagant ruff collar framed in a roundel above a turkey, with leaf and berry spandrels to the corners. The other with a full length figure in Elizabethan attire, holding a turkey,17¼ ins x 11 ins (44 cm x 28 cms).
A Rare 17th Century Joined Oak Box Stool. The near square lid with moulded edge on wire hinged opening to reveal a a paper label inscribed; 'This Box Circa 1665 was originally at Haddon Hall' with two red wax seals. Standing on ball & reel turned legs united u peripheral stretchers and terminating on ball turn feet. 16 ins (41 cms) high, 14¾ ins x 14 ins (27 cm x 35 cms).
A Delightful & Rare Early 19th Century Alpine Painted Pine Rocking Chair of boarded construction. The sides painted with Medieval scenes depicting various figures in landscape. The back seat and winged sides freshly re-upholstered. 29 ins (74 cms) high, 15½ ins (39 cms) wide, 13 ins (33 cms).
A rare mid 17th century English provincial bronze mortar possibly Yorkshire, with 2 handles and a band of raised decoration at the waist including fleurs de lys and stylized flowering plants. The form of this design as a circular band is not apparently recorded in Findlay's book on English mortars. But the individual stamps are very similar to ones attributed to the Yorkshire foundries.
