West Indian Interest: a rare and interesting 18th century mounted glass inkwell and cover of shouldered cylindrical form with decorated sides and an octagonal base, inscribed "The Gift of Samuel Kirshaw DD to Thomas Cockburn Esq, in Acknowledgement of his Good Care of his Affairs in Jamaica 1770", (minor damages) unmarked, c.1770, 3.4in (8.5cm)
An extremely rare and interesting late 17th century "chinoiserie" scent flask, of shaped oval outline with a domed oval foot, a key shaped stopper and a part matt, part polished ground, each side decorated with an oval vignette one depicting a sage-like figure looking up at birds and prunus; the other a lady within a small gazebo, draping her robes over the side rail, struck once on the foot with an Angers-type makers mark, for Pierre Labrosse, London 1695-1700, 2.5in (6.3cm) high, 0.75oz. For further information see The Silver Society Journal Autumn 1998 the article Huguenot Refugees from Anjou, by the late Brian Beet. The article illustrates this particular flask and its mark and goes into great detail about the maker Pierre Labrosse and his family.
A rare George IV silvergilt wine label, cartouche shaped and die-stamped, depicting a boar's mask with weapons of the chase, fruiting vines and a goblet, the curved title area pierced "MADEIRA", by Thomas Johnson, London 1826. A rare George III provincial Argyle, in the form of a can with a reeded base and rim and a rising domed cover with an acorn finial, the body engraved on one side with a crest and on the other with the initial 'G' within a hatched oval cartouche, the interior with a cylindrical hot water container and a pull-off cover, by John Hampston and John Prince, York 1790, 4.75in (12cm) high, 10.5oz.
A rare late 19th century American mixed metals pitcher with a globular body, a cylindrical neck and c-scroll handle chased with scrolls, the hammered ground decorated with three brown trout swimming amongst grass or weed stems whilst a dragonfly flits overhead, all heightened with mixed metal detail, by Tiffany & Co, New York 1877/78 7.75in (19.7cm) high, 33.5oz.
A rare William & Mary East Anglian silvergilt trefid sweetmeat spoon, maker's mark only, for Thomas Havers, Norwich c.1690, 4.25in (10.7cm),0.25oz. This spoon was found in a house (parts of which date from the 13th century) in the Thorpe St Andrew area of Norwich in 1996 when the kitchen ceiling was removed to reveal original oak woodwork.
A rare James II ascribed North Country provincial trefid spoon, with a swollen terminal and a bead and reeded rattail, the back of the terminal scratched "W" over "IE", by an unascribed maker "IT", Leeds (golden fleece, IT, golden fleece, golden fleece, IT, IT) c.1685 8.5in (21.5cm) long, 1.75oz. Boss & Co A magnificent brass bound oak and leather cartridge magazine for about 500 cases, the green beize lined lid with makers paper label, oak dividers, lid impressed with the initials A.G., with makers paper labels applied to each end dated 1937 and 1938 together with its Boss & Co. luggage label inscribed A. Gusar Esq, International Sportsmans Club It is very rare to find magazines of this size and form by this maker. It remains in exceptional condition for its age.
Holland & Holland A fine and rare 12-bore Modele De Luxe single trigger sidelock ejector over and under gun, 36011 29-inch barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/2 and full choke borings, matted ventilated rib, the frame and top-lever engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork, the bolstered fences with chiseled and carved decoration, the makers name signed within a scrolling banner, the hand detachable locks engraved with scenes of flighting duck, gold lined cocking indicators, the action base engraved with a snipe in flight, Holland & Holland patent single trigger, rolled edge "trigger guard, 14 3/4-inch well figured stock with semi-pistol grip, three piece fore-end, nitro proof, in its brass bound oak and leather case 8lb.

The Louis Wain Mazawattee tea box, c. 1910, an orig. rectangular paper-covered cardboard tea box, the lift-up lid depicting a cats tea dance with orchestra, all four sides showing couples dancing, others in conversation, the lady cats with attractive neck ruffs, some holding fans, the gentleman cats wearing bow ties and one sporting a monacle, the interior of the box lined with gold paper and the lid printed with the legend 'Delicious Mazawattee Tea. Genuine Only in Sealed Packets & Tins', minor age wear to extrems., overall dimensions 9.5 in. long, 5 in. tall and 6 in. deep (24 x 12.5 x 15 cm.). A rare and important item of Wainiana. (1)
