Horse Racing. An excellent and extensive archive on 35mm contact negatives (1000s) both flat and National Hunt. Formed between 1969 - 1988. Each negative in wax packets annotated, covering many racecourses, Newmarket, Doncaster, Cheltenham, Liverpool, Pontefract, Thirsk, Nottingham, Haydock, York, Chester, Wetherby, Uttoxeter, Kempton Park, Carlisle, Catterick, Wolverhampton, Ascot, Leicester. Most having listing and placing of each race awarded. The Collection has the original reference index cards each with small photo attached. With 4 index scrap albums & small photos of Jockeys and racing personalities, together with a collection of racing programmes of many of the events, each with hand written results and comments, some with contact strips, 1200+. Raceform handbook, 1970-80s (7), Form Book 1968-1973, Chaseform Jumping (3), National Hunt (6). The photos covering the Paddocks, Jockeys-up, Race in progress, each horse in action is then listed to index and with relevant photo. It is rare for a racing archive of such depth to come onto the market, a collection offering great research potential, well worth a long and detailed viewing.
Olympics, rare hard back report issued by the Olympic Committee of the Winter Olympics in Innsbruck 1964 with D/J. This is copy with letter from Olympischer Sport - Verlag who produced the report to the sports editor Daily Mail, reads as follows: 'In accordance with a letter to you from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) The IX Olympic Games at Innesbruck as a copy free of charge'. Dated 3/9/64. Review pre-release copies are rare. This copy has official Olympic Creditation to front of letter.

Tank Corps. An historically important group to the Tank Corps. BWM. VM. officially impressed: 200581 Pte. H. Rothera Tank C. These mounted in a contemporary frame with a T/Cps Cap Badge & IWM photo of Tank 'C1' 'Champagne, lying wrecked on the battlefield following its destruction during the attack on 15/9/16 as part of the No 1 section of 'C' Company attack on Courcelletle. C1 led the attack. Herbert Rothera & Tank C1 are well covered in the 'The First Tank Crews' by S. Pope. & The Tanks at Flers. The group is accompanied by a fine large scratch model of C1 complete with plates with the names of the Crew, and an original painting of 'C1. Champagne' in action a group to a member of the Tank Corps who participated in the First Tank Battle in World History & who drove the leading Tank. Outstanding & rare lot. Rothera was wounded at Arras. He served with 'C' Bn at Ypres & Cambrai Picture '24' & '18'. Very fragile (qty)
