Sword: An 1821 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword. Blade engraved 'Prince of Wales Own Hussar's' and the initials 'A.H.C' (Major A.H Cass) Major Cass joined the regiment in India in 1851 and 1867. (Indian Mutiny 1857) Sword by Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London (unnumbered). Triple bar steel hilt, wirebound fishskin grip (handling service wear) In its steel scabbard. Lot also includes and original 6 page letter written from the Cavalry Camp, Balaklava, June 17th 1855 with additions dated June 18th by Lieut Arthur Herbert Cass. An interesting sword with rare provenance. In good overall condition.

December 1059, Byzantine two-thirds silver miliaresion, Constantinople Mint, weight 1.63g, diameter 23.03, obverse:- Christ's bust facing, with nimbus cruciger, wearing pallium and colobium, right hand raised giving benediction, book of Gospels in left hand, legend IC - XC, reverse:- Greek legend in six lines, KE RO[HO] / IC[AAKIW] / [OPOOAOIW] / [AECI IOT]H / [TW] KOMNH / NW, double lined border each side, Sear 1846, there is thought to be only three other specimens of this issue known, these all being in museums and from different dies to the present piece, the coin in the Dumbarton Oakes Collection was sold in 1948 and the only previous sale we can trace was in 1886, present piece found with a metal detector on 1st. January 2015 in Mid-Suffolk, sold with all paperwork and research by Dr.Vezin, reverse has thin black deposit across legend, also very light scuffs, excessively rare and possibly the only specimen of this Byzantine Emperor in silver available to the private collector, VF/NF

Cavalry interest: A rare world war 1/2 cavalry sword frog incorporating a case for two horseshoes and nails known as the 'Horse puncture repair outfit'. In fine condition. Inside stamped 'MOT BENNETT WALSALL, 1939'. This may be a Great War frog with the Bennett marked pocket added. W/D stamp & '17' to the outer pouch. VGC. Leather supple, stitching good.

This was Montblanc's top of the line pen when it was introduced in 1938, and was originally retailed for 45 Reichsmarks (approx. $20 US). Complete tour squad have signed, 16 players, includes Best, Dunne, Crerand, Ure, Morgan, Aston, Rimmer etc. Programme has vertical fold and piece approx 1" by 2" off bottom right hand corner of the cover, slight creasing and condition is probably best described as "Fair" although in our opinion it is probably just a little better than that.
