Rare bottle of Royal Welsh whisky from the Welsh Whisky Distillery, circa 1900. The label reading 'As supplied to HM the Queen and HRH the Prince of Wales', and 'It is distilled with the greatest possible care from malt only, and is absolutely pure. Connoisseurs pronounce it quite unique, and as a wholesale stimulant it is very highly recommended'. Proprietor - William Owen, White Lion Royal Hotel, Bala, North Wales. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Liquid level upper shoulder. Label in good overall condition, some minor chips to the perimeter. Cork has some losses particularly through upper section (see additional image) and has been taped around the top of the neck. Provenance: Vendor's grandparents are from/lived in Bala area, it is believed the grandfather obtained the bottle in the 1920s and it has been in the family's possession ever since (90+ years).

The rare Highland malt bottle liquid level middle to lower neck and cylindrical carton and labels in good overall condition, just with some bubbling to labels, both sealed. The cylindrical carton has a little bit of rusting around the lid and the base.

A rare and attractive French cherry wood kitchen dresserThe raised back with a moulded cornice above two galleries of turned spindles above a square aperture with a fretwork frame enclosing a single shelf and flanked by two panelled cupboard doors, the lower section with three frieze drawers, each applied with substantial yew wood veneer, above a conforming central recess flanked by panelled doors and raised upon bracket supports, 164x202x47cm.
1st century BC-1st century AD. A bronze toggle formed as two domes discs joined by a ribbed strap, pierced for attachment. 9.84 grams, 31mm (1 1/4"). The Chris Rudd collection, Norfolk, UK; formed since the 1970s; collection number CE37; formerly in the collection of George Wentworth; found East Anglia. Chris Rudd has collected ancient coins and antiquities since the 1940s. As an amateur archaeologist he found many himself at Badbury Rings, Dorset, 1952-53. He also dug at Hod Hill with Professor Sir Ian Richmond and at Wroxeter with Dame Kathleen Kenyon and Dr Graham Webster. Today he is best known as a Celtic coin dealer. His catalogues have been described as ‘an important research source’ by Professor Sir Barry Cunliffe and ‘treasure houses of delight’ by Dr Anne Ross. Coins and artefacts associated with Chris Rudd – as a collector, dealer and valuer – can be seen in The British Museum and other museums. This collection was formed since the 1970s. A photographic album of the Hankow Floods of 1931 issued by Zenith Studio, Hankow, China; card covers stitched with ribbon, fifteen leaves each with a hand-printed and applied photograph to each side, English and Chinese printed captions; subjects include the Custom House, various street views, Race Club and Recreation Ground, railway infrastructure, refugee camps, the Union Hospital and other important buildings. The flooding in China in 1931, following the drought of 1928-1930, was a devastating event, estimated to have killed up to nearly four million people (directly, or from starvation or disease later) and to have affected another fifty-two million; the story was reported around the world. 228 grams, 21.5 x 15.5cm (8 1/2 x 6"). The first cartouche 'Sua Maesta, il Shah Morad Ali Khan' (Sarkar Mir Morad Ali Khan), second cartouche 'Lavoro di Mohammed Kazem Shirazi' (Amal-e Mohammed Kzem Shirazi) and inscripion 'Servo di Ali, Mohammed il guerriero' (Emdad be bande.ye Ali Mohammad Qasi). Extraordinary grip in rare, white jade, finely embossed with a horse's head and floral motifs at the base, adorned with rubies inlaid in yellow gold (Kundan technique). length 97.5 cm.
dating: 19th Century provenance: Turkey, Spearhead with iron cusp with straight, double-edged blade, provided with long, faceted ferrule, wooden shaft covered with bordeaux velvet, partially held by rivets, and complete with tassel. Complete with iron, cusp-shaped shoe, decorated with thick rings. Rare complete. height cm.
dating: 19th Century provenance: France, Nice, curved, single-and false-edged blade with hollowed tip, central fuller and groove on the back, finely engraved with trophies and floral motifs until the half, signed at the base 'Schimmeltuch et Fils Solingen' (rare signature), engraved back; brass hilt decorated with floral motifs in bass-relief, spiral grip covered with fish skin without wire binding. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings on brass bands. Sword knot. length 104 cm.
