A rare Philippines (moro) mail shirt,19th century formed of numerous large brass plates joined by butted brass rings, opening at the front, secured by a pair of shaped brass catches, extending to the thigh, and covering the upper portion of the arms; a rare Philippines (Moro) brass helmet, early 19th century, formed in two halves joined at a raised pierced comb, with pointed peak front and rear, pierced around the base of the skull, fitted with plume-holder at the rear and a pair of ear-defences; a Philippines (Moro) armoured shirt, 19th century, formed of closely meshed rows of butted brass links carrying horn plates of characteristic form throughout, and closed at the front by a pair of brass catches on larger horn plates; and a rare Indonesian armoured shirt, 19th century, formed of woven rattan, applied over its entire surface with numerous rectangular bone plaques arranged in horizontal rows including large circular bosses at the front and another at the rear (4) Op.cit., pp.446-447, figs.318, 318a, and p.426, fig.301a.
