Ca. AD 200 - 400.A Sasanian green stone stamp seal depicting a bearded man facing right with a highly stylised face and clothing. The seal has a flat body with a horizontally drilled hole. The top features intricate insectile features such as a frilled clypeus, and sinuous legs tucked beneath the carapace. Displayed across the bottom are incised symbols typical of the second intermediate period and also known as ‘Hyksos sides’ or ‘Hyksos panels’. Ca. 1500 - 800 BC.A Mesopotamian duck weight made from a dark stone. It has a long neck and it's head is turned back. The slender neck is undercut and separated from the wide body. Ca. 1200 - 800 BC.A Western Asiatic turquoise necklace composed with cylindrical turquoise beads interspersed with gold beads. In the centre there are three gold and stone pendants stamped with flowers and drop motifs. The necklace is strung with a modern hook-and-loop closure. Following the construction of a stone pier in 1834 trading activity increased, and new houses were built as economic migrants arrived. When shipbuilding commenced, the town increased in size with the construction of terraced housing up the slopes of the sheltered bay. By the 1840s, more than three hundred men were employed in building ships in New Quay and surrounding area.Comments: good all around with minor abrasions to the handle and spout only..
