Following the construction of a stone pier in 1834 trading activity increased, and new houses were built as economic migrants arrived. When shipbuilding commenced, the town increased in size with the construction of terraced housing up the slopes of the sheltered bay. By the 1840s, more than three hundred men were employed in building ships in New Quay and surrounding area.Comments: good all around with minor abrasions to the handle and spout only..
