A Japanese carved ivory okimono of a drum seller, Meiji period (1868-1912), standing with a pole over one shoulder suspending various drums, two studded with ebony and green stone rivets, his other hand holding a puppet, on leaf carved oval base, signed with inset red stone tablet with two character mark, 4¾in. (12cm.) high.* Condition: Well repaired old break to drums at front of pole. Shrinkage crack to centre of base (where inset plaque has been let-in). Old glued repair to break at top of cord suspending small drum at back of pole.
A Victorian 9ct yellow gold and emerald five stone ring, the five graduated emerald cut stones within a scroll carved setting and reeded shoulders, ring size N, one stone a glass replacement.* Condition: Hallmarked '9c' only and has been sized at some point. Wear to facets on all stones. Top of the darkest stone scratched and heavily worn. Some wear to edges of gold mounts. One stone is completely clear and therefore believed to be a replacement - it is second from the right in the main catalogue photo.
A Chinese white jade dragon and tiger pendant, possibly Ming / early Qing period, the pendant carved in low relief to one side to depict a stylised dragon, to the other a tiger, 3in. (7.6cm.) long.* Condition: Good condition, with no chips or other damage. Small flaw to stone to centre of underside, extending slightly into the very lower edge of the main face of the pendant.
A Castellani style 22ct gold, tourmaline and enamel pendant brooch, hallmarked 'KMC 22CT', the oval brooch with central pink tourmaline carved as an Egyptian mask, within multiple beaded, ropework and black enamel borders, the outer scroll border in white enamel, set at the cardinals with four baguette cut pink tourmalines, 43 x 39mm.* Condition: Minute chip to left hand emerald cut stone. Tiny natural flaw to back of carved stone near centre. No damage to enamel work. When held to the light, one can see a vertical line in the carved stone, which almost has the appearance of a drilled hole from top to bottom. See photo.
