An excellent Gandharan stone oil lamp from the Indus Valley, ca. 3rd - 4th Century AD. This fine example is 3 in long, 2 in wide and is made from the blue-gray schist characteristic of the region. There is an incised face on the handle, flanges on the sides and decorative elements on the rim. Signs of extensive usage and good mineral deposits overall. (IV432)
A fine Gandharan stone head from the Indus Valley, ca. 3rd - 4th Century AD. It is 1-7/8 in high and is carved from the blue-gray schist characteristic of the region. It depicts an individual adorned with a fancy, ornament studded turban type headdress. Good mineral deposits, mounted on stand. (IV597)
