Albums. Three early-nineteenth century albums of pencil drawings, watercolours and manuscript quotations, mostly by George Walker, Fannie Tottie and George Brewin, one album titled 'Amicitiana, Springhead, Written and Delineated for Jane Tottie, 1822', with 11 sketches by George Walker, another with two fine watercolour studies by the same artist titled 'The Hut on Rocking-stone Moor' and 'Rockingstone Hall', both 121mm x 74mm approx., contemporary half morocco, 4to, c.1820-1835 George Walker (1781-1856) was a noted local artist and is best known for his commission to illustrate The Costume of Yorkshire (1814). He travelled to Italy, but preferred his native Yorkshire, and lived at Killingbech Lodge, Seacroft until his death in 1856. See illustration.
