A diamond and multi precious stone ring, the seven oval cut eight claw set precious stones set to the centre of the mount in the order - amethyst, sapphire, tanzanite, emerald, yellow sapphire, fire opal and ruby, all representing the colours of the rainbow, set between six evenly spaced brilliant cut claw set diamond highlights to each side, all set between tapering shoulders on a plain band. Stamped 750. Ring size M.

Second daughter of Samuel John Lamorna Birch R.A., R.W.S. (1869 - 1955), Joan like her father was part of the Newlyn School of painters, featuring the Cornish landscape in a number of her works.

An early 20th Century horn and silver dress powder flask with the end mounts having relief Celtic decoration with scrolls edges with one mount set with a oval claw set Cairngorm stone, the centre of the flask body having `Otium Cum Dignitate` motto with silver large link silver chain. Flask hallmarked Edinburgh 1908 with makers initials G.P, possibly George Paton with each link of the chain having Edinburgh assay mark.
An early 20th Century Scottish Dirk dagger with carved bog oak wooden handle with black leather and silver scabbard with Celtic relief design with a shield shaped motto `Otium Cum Dignitate` with the handle tip having a claw set oval Citrine stone, the rear engraved `Matthew McGavin from his family 13. June 1908`. Silver hallmarked 1908 with makers initials `Y&T`. Total length 22cm, blade length 10cm.
