AN INDIAN DIAMOND, CARVED STONE AND JAIPUR ENAMEL KAIRI PENDANT The pendant with a central green foil backed carved stone, within a surround of polki diamonds, the reverse with red, green and blue floral enamelling with two birds, on a white ground, suspending a cultured pearl drop, on a cord necklace, with an additional cord necklace Size/dimensions: pendant 4.4 cm long Gross weight: 24.8 grams Condition Report: There is some wear commensurate with use, some tarnishing, some uneven surfaces to the enamel border. The pendant in our opinion is of modern manufacture, made within the last 40 years, probably made post 1980. The pendant length is 4.4cm long including the cultured pearl drop, it is 3.3cm long without the drop, 2.3cm wide. The green foiled stone is transparent, either clear hardstone or paste, due to the carving we have been unable to definitively identify the carved stone. The metal is testing as gold in the tiny patch that has been able to be tested, but due to the enamel and stones we are not able to scrape the settings, these pieces are usually filled with resin with a thin layer of gold over the top. There are nibbles to the crown facet edges, some slight thinning to the back of the shank. The malachite moves slightly in the setting, there is a small fracture under the stone with a little loss, the terminals are not fixed and so technically the ring could be expanded, it does actually look like the setting has been closed up a little Condition Report Disclaimer
