A Valley of Stones monolith from Jim Henson and Frank Oz's fantasy film The Dark Crystal. Ritualistic stones and monoliths decorated the Valley of Stones, where the Mystics resided in peace and harmony. The monolith is made of lightweight carved foam, with a swirling Celtic pattern embossed on the front. It is hand painted to resemble grey stone, with faux moss, vines and other artificial plants applied to create an ancient and decrepit look. Designed to only be seen from the front, the rear remains unfinished and hollow, with two square holes cut out of each side. The monolith can be seen in rare test footage of the production team testing various puppets. The item has some wear from production use and age, including areas where the paintwork has cracked and come away. The Element Key from Luc Besson's sci-fi adventure The Fifth Element. The Element Key was given to Professor Pacoli (John Bluthal) by a Mondoshawan in 1914, and passed down through the generations by a secretive order of priests. When the Great Evil returned to Earth in 2263, the key was carried by Vito Cornelius (Ian Holm), who used it to grant Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) access to a stone chamber and activate the weapon contained within.The key comprises four metal blades on the end of a thin metal rod. Each blade features an ornate pattern, and the entire key has a bronzed finish, intentionally tarnished to look hundreds of years old. It has some wear from production use and age, including sections at the base of the blades where the soldering is visible, and the end of the rod is slightly pointed, where it has been cut. A Terror Dog statue foot from Ivan Reitman's supernatural comedy Ghostbusters. The two loyal servants of Gozer (Slavitza Jovan) first appeared when they manifested inside a pair of dog-like statues sat atop Dana Barrett's (Sigourney Weaver) apartment building, the location of Gozer's temple later in the film. Sculpted in rigid foam, the large foot features an external layer of plaster, finished in a light grey to replicate the appearance of carved stone. A hole is present on the top of the foot, and sections of the plaster have flaked away exposing the foam core. The lot remains fragile and should be handled with care. A large Terror Dog statue from Ivan Reitman's supernatural comedy Ghostbusters. The two loyal servants of Gozer (Slavitza Jovan) first appeared when they manifested inside a pair of dog-like statues sat atop Dana Barrett's (Sigourney Weaver) apartment building, built years before as a temple to the Destructor. The statue is made of rigid foam with a plaster-like coating, finished to replicate the appearance of carved stone. Exhibiting a menacing appearance, the creature features two large horns, an open snarling mouth displaying a set of fangs, and multiple protruding spines down its back. This particular statue was sympathetically restored by Tom Spina Designs, Inc. The repairs include the reattachment of one tooth, the fabrication of several new horn components, and some paint touch-ups. The statue is mounted on a square base and displays some signs of paint wear and cracks in the coating. Stacks of boxes filled the shelves of Ollivanders, the shop Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) visited in Diagon Alley to purchase a wand.These boxes were gifted to attendees of the film's world premiere at Leicester Square in 2001. The sealed cardboard boxes differ in shape and lid style - one red with a faux-crocodile skin effect and the other a textured black. The lids are decorated with a golden Ollivanders-branded label, and the black box displays a sticker on the left end featuring a wand-maker measurement. Minor damage is present on the lid of the black textured box and the set displays minor wear from use. Lot 784

Tau'ri communication stones and a communication device from the sci-fi television series Stargate Universe. Humans - known throughout the galaxy as Tau'ri - created their own version of the Alteran communication device. One such device was brought onto the Destiny by Col. Everett Young (Louis Ferreria) after the attack on Icarus Base during the first episode. Unlike other variants of the device, this one is box-shaped with a flat top. Five overlapping circles show where the stones sit, and there is a space for inserting a removable power cell. The device features exposed cabling and circuit boards around the edges, as well as two USB ports and two jack ports. A switch on one side was used to illuminate the device while powered.The stones are made of blue resin, and are decorated with alien text and patterns. They are secured to the top of the device with magnets. The device and stones come with a padded metal carrying case, but do not have cables to power them. Both the stones and the device show wear from production use, including scuffs and scratches. A set of hand-drawn costume sketches for Alexander (Colin Farrell), printed character concept designs, and 11 gold coins from the production of Oliver Stone's historical epic Alexander.The hand-drawn Alexander sketches are rendered in pencil and feature a full sketch and two smaller sketches of his back and head. "Jenny discuss" is handwritten in the top-left corner, referring to two-time Oscar®-winner Jenny Beavan, who designed the costumes for the film. Four pages feature printed concept designs for King Philip II (Val Kilmer), Cleitus (Gary Stretch), Alexander and Alexander's helmet. Two feature handwritten notes from Oliver Stone, labelled "OS". The 11 golden coins are made of plaster in varying shapes and sizes, with a gold-coloured paint finish and raised human faces and animal motifs. The designs have some wear from production use and age. They have creasing, edge wear and tape stuck to some of the edges, and the Alexander print has a tear from the top edge. Objects acquired from these collections formed the basis of what is now an extensive and eclectic collection at the Museum. A Greek marble head of a youth or athlete Circa 4th Century B.C.The youthful life-sized head tilted slightly to his proper left, with the neck curved to the right, the face with heavy-rimmed almond-shaped eyes and dimples at the corners of the lips, the hair arranged in short thick curls, with smaller curls clustering around the nape of the neck and the ears, 29cm highFootnotes:Provenance:Prof. Dr Ernst Berger (1928-2006) collection, former director of the Antikenmuseum Basel, acquired in the 1960s. with Donati - Arte Classica, Lugano. Private collection, Europe, acquired from the above in November 2010.The chiselled hair seen on this head is similar to that found on monumental statues of around 350 B.C. attributed to Skopas and also the early work of Lysippos. The intense expression of the face is similar to a life size marble head of a youth in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, acc. no. 11.91.1, which is suggested as resembling the style of the works of the 4th Century sculptor Skopas. There are some inclusions towards the edges of the stone that are visible with 10x magnification but not easily visible with the naked eye. There is some minor abrasion to one of the facet junctions on the crown, again visible with 10x magnification but not easily visible with the naked eye. The shank is not especially worn, it is the same width all the way round. There are minor surface marks/scratches to the shank.The ring has been later rhodium plated, some yellow is showing through at the base of the shank. Shank of sapphire ring is slightly oval.Slight wear to the setting edges of the diamonds, but all stones secure.Band ring:The finger size is N LE, not M LE as originally catalogued.Minor surface marks/scratches.
