WW1 2nd Bn Border Regiment 1914 Star Group of Three Medals. Awarded to “7349 CPL A.F. STONE BORD R”. Comprising: 1914 Star, “L.CPL 2/BORD R”, British War Medal, Victory Medal. Corporal Alfred Frederick Stone enlisted in 1904 at the age of 15 years, his address given as a Frome Union Workhouse. He embarked to South Africa in 1904 with the Regiment and returned to the UK in 1914 landing in France on the 5th October 1914. It appears he was wounded in March 1918 which resulted in his discharge.
