*France, Louis XIV (1643-1715) and his mother Anne of Austria, uniface bronze medal, c. 1645, half-length busts of Louis XIV as a six year old and his mother facing each other, the child playing with the tassel on her gown, rev., with incuse impression of obverse, 95.8mm (cf. Jones, BMC, 208; Mazerolle Warin 60), plugged and with trace of mount on reverse, an extremely fine early cast with brown patina The medal is normally found with a reverse of the Church of Val-de-Grâce in Paris, the foundation stone of which was laid on 1 April 1645.
CARVED GEORGE CROSS BUILDING STONE . A well carved stone memorial from a building in Malta in the form of a George Cross medal. It measures 9 ½ inches in diameter and 2 ½ inches thick. This is carved from limestone ( not cast concrete) and has 2 bolts set into the reverse to enable it to be bolted into position. Stated by the vendor to have been removed from a shop front in Malta due to refurbishment of the building. It is in good condition, lettering and St George image clearly visible below a layer of natural patina. 100-150
A Collection of Garnet Jewellery, late 19th century, comprising of a corsage pendant brooch, with detachable drop (one stone missing), a set of six buttons, bombe style, a pair of earrings and a single earring. (a quantity). From a private Shropshire vendor. Corsage Piece: top: 68mm x 50mm No stones missing but one small stone replaced or different at some stage. In my opinion the metal is silver gilt.Detachable drop pendant: 55mm length x 44mm width. One stone missing at the top of pendant. In my opinion the metal is silver gilt.Six Dress Studs/Buttons: 17mm width all matching. Two with later backs. In our opinion the backs are silver gilt with two later solder attachments in gilt metal (see photo) A Pair of Earrings: 18mm x 15mm. No stones missing. In our opinion on silver backs with screw fitting of base metal. A single Earring: 7mm width . No stones missing . In our opinion on a base metal.
