The main cabochon stone is even in colour but does show some light scuff marks in general commensurate with age and moderate usage. The centre stone is securely set with no damage to the claws. The surrounding diamonds are likewise securely set with no visible damage or obvious sign of previous repair. The shank is in good order. We are not qualified to comment as to the stone being heat treated or not.

The hallmark is not British, it is marked 18ct and showing a further foreign mark. The enamel work appears to be in good condition and free from any obvious sign of damage or previous repair. The centre coral cabochon stone is free from any obvious sign of damage or cracks. The centre stone is securely mounted with all claws being present and secure. Likewise the surrounding diamonds. The clasp functions correctly. The box is the original box and it is marked Port Royal, Naples, Florida.

The centre stone is securely set but does show some slight impact damage in the area of one claw and also has a fairly visible inclusion at that point. The smaller stones to the shank are securely set and the shank itself shows no obvious sign of previous damage or repair. NB Please note we are not qualified to grade stones

The centre stone appears to be free from any obvious signs of chipping or nibbling to the table or girdle. The flanking diamonds are securely set and likewise appear to be free from any obvious sign of damage as are the shank and claws.
Herzogin Cecilie interest: a mahogany cased Rototherm thermometer, the case inscribed "Ex Herzogin Cecilie - Wrecked 25th April 1936 - Bolt Head Devon", W 21.5cm x H 8cm x D 4.5cm. Note: Herzogin Cecilie was a 1902 German-built four-mast barque and was one of the fastest merchant sailing ships of her time. On 25 April 1936 the ship grounded on Ham Stone Rock and drifted onto the cliffs of Bolt Head on the South Devon coast. Herzogin Cecilie was later towed to Starhole Bay near Kingsbridge and on 18 January 1939, the ship capsized and sank. The timber and brass portholes from the chart room were salvaged.
