Northamptonshire - Manuscript Account Book. Church Warden's Book of Disbursments for the Parish of Boughton from 1711 to 1807 [so titled to upper cover], 73 leaves of detailed accounts (mostly written to one side of each leaf), commencing from 'Robeard Haskcutt Junr. & Peter Whitfield Senior Church Wardens in ye yeare 1710' to 'The Disburstments of John Faulkner Church Warden for the parish of Boughton April 7 1806', includes payments for bread & wine for Communion, bell ringing, various repairs including mending the Church gate and numerous clock repairs, washing of surplices and payment for a paper against profanity and swearing etc., one or two leaves detached, contemporary vellum, manuscript title to upper cover, marked and some staining, extremities worn, tall slim folio There have been two churches in the parish of Boughton, both dedicated to St John. The remains of a 14th-century building can be seen on a site to the east of the village of Boughton which was in ruins by the early 18th century. The present-day parish church stands within the village. The tower dates from around 1400, but the remainder of the building was rebuilt at various times during the 19th century. A pencil note to the final leaf of the volume states that 'the church with exception of the tower was rebuilt in 1806 with stone from the old church on The Green, John Dixon Rector'. (1)

A diamond set pendant necklace, in a pierced trefoil, floral and foliate openwork design, mounted with cushion shaped and rose cut diamonds and with the principal diamond mounted to the centre and with three further larger diamonds mounted at intervals, with a diamond set single stone surmount, the neckchain with a boltring clasp, together with a brooch pin fitting and a small screwdriver for alternative wear, with a shaped fitted case, detailed V.MAYER'S SOHNE, WIEN, probably last quarter of the 19th century.
