Ring size N.The central stone measures approximately 7.8mm-8.0mm diameter x 4.2mm deep and estimated to weigh approximately 1.5-1.7cts, it is a lively bright old cut diamond, estimated colour I/J, eye-visible inclusions, some surface reaching, estimated clarity I3. The eleven smaller diamonds are all well-matched lively bright stones and estimated I/J colour and SI1-I1 clarity. The diameter of the cluster is approximately 4.6 - 4.8mm. The setting and shank appears to be platinum and/or 18ct white gold, not hallmarked, good condition commensurate with age. Weighs approximately 4.0grams.

Lot 602

Antique diamond single stone ring with a pear-shape rose cut diamond measuring approximately 10.5mm x 8.5mm in a closed-back gold setting with pierced gallery on tapered gold shank. Ring size approximately M.We believe the ring to be antique and probably late 19th/early 20th century. Not hallmarked but probably 18ct gold. The closed back setting restricts measuring the depth of the stone, the depth including the setting is approximately 7.3mm. The diamond is a lively stone that appears to be of good colour and clarity, no obvious inclusions, small inclusions when viewed with a loupe, one small white inclusion only just visible to the naked eye but not obvious. Colour and clarity difficult to estimate due to the restrictions of the setting. Weighs approximately 8.5 grams.

Antique sapphire five stone ring with five graduated oval mixed cut blue sapphires with rose cut diamond accents to the claws in carved gold setting on tapered gold shank. Ring size L½.The sapphires measure approximately: 6.5mm x 5.5mm x 3.28mm, the next two measure approximately 6mm x 5mm x 2.8mm-2.9mm, and two approximately 5.5mm x 4.5mm. The sapphires are lively bright stones and generally of good clarity. One of the smaller stones at one end has a surface reaching inclusion, the setting restricts the inspection of the stones. The setting is in good condition, the claws have been re-tipped. The shank is thin but sufficiently good. Not hallmarked but most likely 18ct gold, circa 1880-1900. Weighs approximately 4.8 grams.

The tanzanite measures approximately 12.5mm x 9.52mm x 5.6mm. The tanzanite is a very vibrant lively rich blue stone in excellent condition. The diamonds are all very lively bright well matched stones of excellent colour and clarity. Setting and shank in excellent condition. Weighs approximately 8.9 grams. A copy of the original receipt can be supplied. In original box.

Small inclusion towards the centre of the stone when viewed with a loupe but not visible to the naked eye. The colour is difficult to estimate, possibly K/L. Setting and shank in good condition, not hallmarked. Weighs approximately 3.7 grams.

Late Victorian opal and diamond heart shape ring with a heart-shape opal surrounded by a border of old cut and rose cut diamonds in silver setting with two further diamonds to the foliate scroll shoulders on gold shank, ring size K.The heart shaped cluster measures approximately 10.2mm x 9.8mm. The opal measures approximately 7mm x 6mm. The opal is in good condition, no chips or cracks, light surface scratches commensurate with age. The opal has a good play of colour, displaying green, blue and pink tones. One single cut diamond to the shoulder might be a replacement stone but the rest of the diamonds are all old cut stones and original to the setting. The shank has been enlarged and strengthened with the addition of a gold slip inserted to the inside of the shank, associated solder, fairly crude. Weighs approximately 3.5 grams.

A rare Chinese export plate, circa 1770, decorated with a Masonic scene of three figures around a cubic stone, looking at plans, with mason's tools around them, 22.5cm diameter.The subject probably refers to the building of the Temple of Solomon, and the service from which this plate came may have been commissioned for the founding of a lodge. The design appears to have been copied from an engraving by Benjamin Cole (1695-1766) for a summons of the Dundee Arms Lodge.Small chips / fritting to rim, and some minor gilt and enamel wear.
