William Draper (1798-1825) oil on panel - Sudbury Fair, Gregory Street, 54cm x 47.5cm, in gilt frameNB: a hand written early 20th history of the paining attached verso stating "...William Draper the artist was born in Sudbury 1798 - died 20 May 1825. He was self taught but his pictures closely resembled those of Wilkie although he had never seen them...Draper was buried in St. Gregory's Churchyard, but no stone marks the spot. Picture was bought by C. G. Grimwood at L. Andrew's sale Jan 23rd 1917". A further note verso states that it was still in the Grimwood collection in the 1950s before passing into the collection of Lord Phillips of Sudbury in the latter half of the 20th century.
A fine antique reconstituted stone garden urn and cover on plinth, with detachable lid, female caryatid handles, floral festoons on socle base, the plinth with figures and acanthus leaves, approximately 200cm high. Purchased by the vendor from a country house sale after the war, from Berechurch Hall, Colchester, before it was demolished.Sound condition with some losses and repairs. 1920s diamond and synthetic emerald platinum ring with a border of fourteen old cut diamonds in platinum setting with finely pierced gallery on plain shank, estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.85cts. Ring size K½.The diamonds are all well-matched stones and all appear to be original to the ring, estimated H/I colour and SI-I1 clarity, estimated total weight approximately 0.85cts. The setting is in good condition commensurate with age. The centre stone has been replaced with a synthetic stone. The gallery and shank are in good condition. Not hallmarked but stamped 'plat'. Weighs approximately 4.3 grams.

The setting appears to be 9ct and possibly 18ct gold. One small green stone is missing, otherwise in good condition. Possibly 20th century.
Two antique carved hardstone cameos, each finely carved in relief, the larger with a double portrait possibly representing the Roman Emperor Trajan and Empress Pompeia Plotina, 31mm x 27mm, the other cameo depicts a classical Roman female portrait bust, 31mm x 23mm (2)Good condition commensurate with age. Late Victorian opal five stone ring with five graduated oval opal cabochons with diamond accents to the claws with carved gold scroll setting on tapered gold shank, ring size N½.Good condition commensurate with age. The smallest opal has a small chip, light surface scratches but have a good play of colour. Setting in good condition, the shank has been re-sized and the date letter is 'b', assay office is not present, probably Birmingham 1901. Probably 18ct . Weighs approximately 6.7 grams.

The sapphires measure approximately Length 3.30mm; width 3.30mm; depth 2.40mm Weight 0.26ct (calculated) each stone; total weight 0.52ct. Weighs approximately 10.15 grams.

Weighs approximately 8.00 grams.

The diamond does draw colour/have a warm tint, possibly M/N colour. Diamond single stone ring with a round brilliant cut diamond estimated to weigh approximately 4.11cts, in six claw 18ct white gold setting, ring size K.The diamond is accompanied by a photocopy of a E.D.R. Jewellery Report dated 16/08/2011 which is believed to relate to the ring and gives the weight of the stone as 4.11, colour grade F/G and clarity grade SI1. There is also a letter from AnchorCert Independent Diamond Certification dated 13th September 2011 which is also believed to relate to the diamond ring which states that the diamond was not found to be treated by Fracture Filling or Laser Drilling. The diamond appears cloudy and fluoresces yellow under a UV light.
A large Fulham stoneware flagon or serving bottle, mid 19th century, of four gallon size, impressed inscription '335 George Dady Norwich' beneath the spout, the handle impressed with a 4, beneath that 'Fulham Stone Pottery Glazed Inside', 46cm.Provenance: formerly the Jonathan Horne Collection.George Dady was landlord of The Walnut Tree Shades pub in Norwich, and is listed as a wine and spirit merchant in directories of the 1850s. He died in a suspected suicide in 1859 at the age of 27, having been found drowned in a cistern after experiencing financial worries. His wife took over the pub but was killed the following year in a gunpowder explosion. Their two young children were rescued from the blast by a passing sailor and were cared for by their grandparents before being transferred to a London orphanage in 1865.

The white top with a surface crack to the bottom - appears to be naturally occurring in the stone. The black top with a chipped section to the bottom. Both with old inventory numbers to the bases.
