The locket loop is damaged and the bracelet appears to have been altered so the locket is no longer suspended. It fastens with a tongue and box catch. It bears no hallmark, nor stamp. It bears no hallmark but has worn stamps which read `PLAT` and `18CT`, and in our opinion it would test as a platinum setting on a gold shank. The diamonds measure; 5.02mm x 4.84mm x 2.82mm = 0.47ct, and 5.09mm x 5.10mm x 3.18mm = 0.57ct. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I/J, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 3.0 grams. A 19th Century Maori jade Hei-tiki of typical form suspended on thread with bone bead, 10.2 cm x 5.8 cm CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear and scuffs, lower left section broken off and missing, and the rough edges appear to have been polished slightly where the break has occurred, overall with what appear to be natural splits and occlusions. Some glue attaching the rope to the bone segment. It does not appear to have been glued, any cracks are assumed to be natural to the stone. Provenance: the vendor informs us that the Hei-tiki was given to the family by Lady Talbot de Malahide. Lady Talbot de Malahide gave the Hei-tiki to her Godson, a member of the current vendor's family. Lady Talbot de Malahide has links to Tasmania, the family establishing Malahide in Tasmania (as well as the ancestral seat, Malahide Castle, in Ireland). The family had English and Irish Peerages.
