An Arts and Crafts pendant, a central mother of pearl oval decorated a gem set flower, on an associated chain Condition report Report by RB Top stone probably an amethyst (looks washed out). Probably mounted in gold, but no hallmarks. Chain probably silver, clasp probably gold. Approx. 6.5 cm to top of pendant. Stones not too worn, but not great quality. An Indian diamond, ruby and enamel ring, the square cluster composed of alternate table cut diamonds and cabochon rubies, in a closed back setting, enamelled to the side, back and shank, mounted in yellow metal (tests 18 carat gold), finger size H/I, 10.9gms CONDITION: diamonds heavily included, rubies of nice red colour, but four of the five with surface reaching inclusions and heavy mineral inclusion within a side stone.
A ruby and diamond cluster ring, the central oval cut ruby approx. 0.92 carat, in a surround of small old brilliants, the yellow metal (tests 18 carat gold) shank finger size N, 2.4gms CONDITION: small chip to girdle and very light abasion to facet edges on the ruby, medium/vivid saturation, RP hue, fairly clean stone. no losses to diamonds, bright and clean. Shank without issue.
Norfolk military interest:- a Victorian silver presentation trowel by Charles Hart, London, 1865, the ebonised handle with upper and lower mounts in the form of coronets, the blade inscribed "This trowel was used on the occasion of laying the Foundation Stone of the Drill Hall, Armoury & Store House, of the 1st. Norfolk Rifle Volunteers, by Mrs. Nichols, wife of W. P. Nichols Esqr., Mayor of Norwich. On Her Majesty's birthday, 1866. And presented to her by the Battalion." 38.7 cm. long.Good condition, the odd minor surface scratch to blade which is solid, not whippy. Marked on back of blade but not on handle mounts.
A sapphire and diamond dress ring, the rectangular cushion cut stone 7.8 x 9.3mm, the three pronged bezel pave set with brilliants totalling approx. 0.48 carats, mounted in white metal (tests 18 carat gold), finger size Q, 9gms CONDITION: clean surface to sapphire, good even colour, dark/medium saturation, fracture inclusion at edge of the stone, diamonds clean but drawing a little colour. Shank solid.
A synthetic ruby and white stone ring, the three graduated stones milligrain set above a gallery mount, the shank stamped '18CT', finger size O/P, 3.5gms; together with a paste set ring, the shank stamped '9CT SIL' (2)CONDITION: abrasion to facet edges on the three stones, chatter marks and indentation to the table on one white stone. Shank solid.
A BURMESE RUBY SET BANGLE, the forty two graduating oval mixed cut rubies each claw set in simple open mounts with engraved swirled detailing to the entirety, on hinged mount with integral tongue clasp and safety catch. Clasp stamped 750. Diameter 6cm. Weight 16.2gms. Accompanied by a Gemmological Certification services certificate, numbered 5777-8659 and dated 31.1.2017, stating that all the rubies are natural with no evidence of heat treatment, with an origin of Burma and weighing in total 15.5 carats. CONDITION REPORTEach ruby measures approximately from largest L 5.11mm x W 4.48mm x D 2.91mm to smallest L 3.35mm x W 3.65mm x D 1.82mm. All are well matched mid to dark pink with reddish tones throughout, all with good colour saturation and depth. All are bright and lively. Most with some minor natural dark inclusions visible into the stone, but none reaching the surface. All with good surface condition. A good show. The mounts are generally in good condition with only a few with very minor areas of wear. Overall in good condition.
A CONTEMPORARY GEMSTONE SET BROOCH, modelled as a can-can dancer, the delicate pierced metal work depicting the flowing skirt set throughout with eleven round cut claw set gem stone highlights to include sapphires, rubies and emeralds and the dancer's headdress set with three round cut sapphire highlights, four round cut emerald highlights and three brilliant cut diamond highlights, on double brooch pin fitting. Length 6cm. Width 5.5cm. Weight 20.5gms.
A COLLECTION OF SIX GEM SET BROOCHES, to include a three stone diamond set split bar brooch, a horse shoe shaped brooch set with synthetic sapphires and seed pearls, a citrine and seed pearl set brooch and a seed pearl and turquoise highlight set brooch. Three stamped 15CT; one stamped 9CT and two un-hallmarked. Total weight 20.8gms.
A PASTE SET INSECT BROOCH, circa 1890-1900, the oval cut blue paste set as the body, to the bottom of a clear round cut paste and between four moulded metal work wings, each set with two graduating clear round cut pastes, with two red paste highlights for the eyes, on brooch pin fitting with safety chain. Diameter 3cm. Weight 7gms. CONDITION REPORTBlue paste stone measures length approx. 10.46mm by width 6.87mm by depth 4.53mm. Mid electric blue with good depth of colour. Good surface condition. No visible marks or scratches.Principal white paste measures approx. 3.95mm diameter (mount obscures depth).Smaller white pastes each measure approx. 3.03mm diameter. (Mount obscures the depth). Most are clear white however principal paste and one paste to the wing slightly more yellow. With a loupe, most have minor surface marks particularly to the facets, however not visible without loupe. All stones well set and secure.Surface marks and scratches to the entirety and visible tarnishing, however not impacting the overall look.Gross weight 7 grams.
An attractive platinum, three stone sapphire and diamond ring with diamond set shoulders, with accompanying Hatton Jewels insurance valuation stating the central sapphire to weigh 4.61cts and flanked by two diamonds with a total weight of 0.97cts with a colour and clarity of G and VS respectively, size O.
