A GROUP OF SIX (6) SNUFFBOTTLES INCLUDING A JADE ONEChina, 20th centuryThe first one made of filigree silver and embellished with stone, with matching stopper, a mark to the base, possibly Mongolian. The second one is made of opaque white glass with five colour overlays depicting peach trees, a dear and a bat, Suzhou School style. The third one is made of blue and white porcelain, bears a colophon as well as a mark to the base. The fourth one is made of porcelain, is adorned with the ‘hundred boys’ subject and bears an apocryphal mark of Emperor Qianlong. The fifth one is made of soft paste porcelain all covered with a yellow glaze. The sixth one is made of jade and carved as a Buddha’s hand / fingered citron. H (the biggest, stopper excl.): 8 cmSold together with an enamelled pill box. H: 10,1 cm – L: 13,3 cm – w: 3,3 cm Weight: 815,5 grams Note: 1. This horse is depicted carrying books while crossing the sea. It is known as the Tian Ma (天馬), lit. “Heavenly Horse”, also referred to as the Long Ma (龍馬), lit. “dragon horse”, i.e. an auspicious creature that according to legend emerged from the Luo River revealing itself to Fuxi (伏羲), one of the three legendary sovereigns of ancient China. 2.
