An Emerald and Diamond Five Stone Ring, circa 1900, three graduated step cut emeralds alternate with two old cut diamonds, with tiny rose cut diamond accents, in a yellow claw and carved setting, on a plain polished shank, total estimated diamond weight 1.65 carat approximately, finger size M The centre emerald is chipped. One of the side emeralds has a fracture. Other than that the condition is reasonably good, with expected wear, and scuffs to the emeralds. It bears no hallmark, nor stamps, but in our opinion it would test as gold. The diamonds measure; 5.92mm x 5.78mm x 3.74mm (0.89ct) and 5.92mm x 5.97mm x 3.18mm (0.78ct). The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I/J, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 5.8 grams. CR made 1st October 2014

It bears no marks, nor stamps. In our opinion it would test as gold. Tests on the stone were not conclusive. Possibly a ruby, but sold unidentified. Gross weight 1.6 grams. An Early 20th Century Diamond Three Stone Ring, the graduated old European cut diamonds in white claw settings, to carved shoulders on a plain polished shank, total estimated diamond weight 3.40 carat approximately, finger size Q1/2 The ring is in good condition overall. Some of the claws need attention. It has been sized and there is a visible added section to the base of the shank. It bears no hallmark, nor stamp, but in our opinion it would test as platinum. The diamonds measure; 5.84mm x 5.83mm x 3.49mm (0.83ct), 7.33mm x 7.39mm x 4.58mm (1.73ct), 5.78mm x 5.81mm x 3.58mm (0.84ct). The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I/J, clarity SI2/I1/I2. The diamonds have some minor nicks to the girdle. Gross weight 4.2 grams. CR made 1st October 2014

A Chinese Gilt Bronze Belt Hook, Han Dynasty, in the form of a coiled archaic dragon, the hook as another dragon`s head, inlaid with various hardstones including carnelian, turquoise, jade, lapis lazuli and chalcedony, 17.2cm long Sold with An Analysis and Metallorphy Report by Dr Peter Northover, Oxford University, concluding the composition of this belt hook can be paralleled in the Han Dynasty, but it is decidedly uncommon. However, the samples showed good evidence of natural long term corrosion so we may accept this belt hook as ancient and authentic. Some typical surface corrosion and wear, with minor chipping and losses to the stone inlay. 071014

An Aquamarine Necklace, circa 1860, graduated oval mixed cut aquamarines to the front of the necklace, in yellow claw settings, within cannetille borders, with a detachable cross, en suite, a fancy link chain to the back of the necklace, length 57.5cm, cross measures 4cm by 5cm NB the cross is missing the central stone Other than the missing stone this is in good condition. The loop which the cross hangs from may well have a later loop attachment. The chain to the back of the necklace is likely to be a later replacement also. The chain attaches to the aquamarine section by way of a hook and loop at one end, and a loop and bolt ring at the other. The cross attaches onto a hook. Gross weight 41.0 grams. The fancy-shape pink sapphire, weighing 2.33cts, within a brilliant-cut diamond curved halo, suspending three graduated pink sapphire briolettes, to the graduated brilliant-cut diamond double collet surmount and trace-link chain. Total briolette sapphire weight 1.34cts. Total diamond weight 0.77ct. Length 46.5cms. Weight 5.4gms. Overall condition good. The central pink sapphire has a moderate to deep colour saturation. The briolette drops are slightly paler but complement the central stone and are well matched. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions, to include very fine silk. Diamonds setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment, however they appear bright and lively. The principal diamond has a number of small inclusions and an off-centre surface fracture. One localised area on the girdle has significantly inclusions/fractured. Ring size L1/2.

Light surface scratches to setting and chain in keeping with general wear. Diamond bright and lively, drawing a very light yellow hue, with scattered light inclusions and surface nicks to the girdle. Estimated total weight of smaller diamonds 0.02ct. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour/clarity grade assessment.

An 18ct gold sapphire and diamond three-stone ring. The circular-shape sapphire, to the brilliant-cut diamond sides and plain band. Estimated total diamond weight 0.25ct. Hallmarks for London, 1982. Weight 3.7gms. Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The sapphire has a dark hue. The diamonds have a tinted yellow colour but appear bright and lively. Ring size M 1/2. Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source.

A pair of 18ct gold brilliant-cut diamond single-stone ear studs. Total diamond weight 1.42cts, estimated G-H colour, SI2-P1 clarity. Hallmarks for Sheffield. Overall condition good. The diamonds are bright and lively. Each diamond weighs 0.71ct. Light coloured feathers can just be seen with the naked eye. Fine fractures visible running in from girdle edge.

Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The diamond is bright with a draw of yellow and a small surface reaching inclusion. The white metal plating on the band has worn. Replacement half-shank, stamped 18ct partially rubbed. Ring size Q.
