AN 18CT GOLD THREE STONE DIAMOND RING. The three old cut diamonds claw set on yellow 18ct band. Ring size Q. Weight 2.9g approx.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Stamped 18ct. Condition good. No obvious wear to facets. We do not have colour and clarity information for this lot - diamonds are old cut. Claws need re-tipping. Old cut diamonds measure 0.50cts each using only a hole gauge and not taking into account the depth of the diamonds.

This is a reissue of the 1697 third edition, with a new title-page. It contains 'A dialogue between an east-Indian brickmanny ... and a French gentleman' at end, itself containing a two-page poem by Mrs Aphra Behn: "To shew that the Recommending Abstinence from Flesh is no new Upstart Conceit". Benjamin Franklin recounts in his Autobiography how he became a vegetarian for a while, having read a book, 'written by one Tryon, recommending a vegetable diet' (cf. Bitting, p. 467).
