David Widdicombe was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1950. While at Cambridge around this period, he was a mentor to Lee Kwan Yew, the founder of modern Singapore, and is mentioned in detail in Lee’s memoirs. Taking silk in 1965, he later became a Recorder and subsequently a Deputy High Court Judge, was appointed a Governing Bencher of the Inn in 1973, and served as a Trustee from 1975-86. David specialised in government administration and he went on to practise in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.In his free time, David loved the antique markets across Asia and, with a particular interest in collecting jade, the Jade Market in Kowloon was one of his favourite places to visit.明 玉雕双龙耳杯Condition report: General wear consistent with age, minute chips to edges, crack to stone.
