Medieval Stirrup Ring. Circa 13th century AD. Silver, 5.29 g, 27.39 mm. UK ring size U, US 10. A stirrup type ring formed of a flat section shank with a partial inscription. Mounted on each shoulder are five beaded granules forming a flower type decoration, this is repeated again as a finial to the bezel in place of the usual stone setting. Property of an Essex collector, bought at the Bloomsbury fair 2003.
